This thread is a joke. Rex brought more success to this franchise than any other coach in decades save for Parcell. He was the only coach that was even able to compete with the Pats. He was saddled with a putrid team this year and it showed. He consistently put out a defense that was better than it's parts which is far more than can be said from Herm or Mangini. Rex had his flaws as a coach and his is up but to say good riddance is ridiculous. He gave the team plenty of good times and gave some relevancy to the franchise. I wish Rex the best of luck and if he goes to a team with a QB like the Falcons he's gonna do great while the same people saying good riddance will post how we should have never gotten rid of him. Fans need more perspective.
No...I suggested some of our star Defensive players may opt out of the Jets to follow Ryan to his new team. A player like MoWilk who's contract is about up may opt to play under the tag for 5x his current salary to become a FA and join his man-crush Rex Ryan.
Not saying that Rex was the sole cause for "The Circus" but with this development, I have a feeling that the Big Top has finally left town for good. Rex was good material but that had its darkside as it lead to too many embarrassing moments. Once Rex toned it down, it just didn't come across as genuine but instead, like an invisible muzzle provided by the new Boss. So here's to a new day in JetLand! No need to be vindictive towards Rex. We knew who he was when we hired him and he didn't disappoint.
