I think harvin is making something like 12 mil next season. He is to injury prone to get that money. I'd rather try to get cobb if he huts the market or Crabtree

I'm basing my opinion partly on the idea that whoever gets hired as the next GM knows way more about pretty much everything involved with the decision. I could just assume I know better but I think that would make me sound like an arrogant clown.

Yep, let the new GM decide what to do with Ryan. Watch the new guy say how much he likes Ryan, but will allow him to talk to other teams. Get a draft pick out of the deal.

There's only 3 pro Rex arguments and they are complete bullshit:

    1. He got us to the AFCG twice (so he should get a lifetime bye as HC)
    2. He's a great defensive mind
    3. Players love him

The problem is you really cannot point to any element of Head Coaching he is good at. Because he's not. His team is undisciplined and under coached. If his initial game plan does not work, he is lost, he has no ability to adjust. He is actively destructive to the offense, he favors old slow veterans over promising rookies, his defensive scheme requires 2 Top 10 CBs to be successful (which is untenable in the modern NFL) his philosophy is unbalanced and not suitable for the modern NFL, etc,,,

More importantly though he has not grown as a head coach. In fact he is probably worse than he was his first couple years.

The only thing Rex really has is undeniable charisma, charisma so strong people completely ignore his faults and look for any scapegoat possiblle as the reasons for his failure.

Heresy I say! Rex is a great defensive mind who brought us to 2 AFCCGs and the players will run through walls for him!

Idzik had horrible drafts and for that reason alone he needs to go.

As for Mora jr... PLEASE NO!!! That means we will prob draft Huindley and F that!!! Kid cant read a D if his life depended on it.

And why is Charlie Fing Casserly giving advice to Woody? The guy is a moron on the NFL network...

If we cant land Bowles keep Rex

No that is idiotic. We need a completely different staff, philosophy and approach to our team. Cannot have that with Rex still here, have to fire him ASAP

Actually, there's only two pro-Rex arguments:

    1. The team outperformed its talent level (particularly in light of its quarterback situation) while he was head coach. Whether or not that is BS is up for debate.
    2. His replacement will be less likely to win a championship than if Rex stayed. Again, this is debatable.

Pussy Boy Mehta says the rumor that a new GM will decide RRs fate is untrue and that he will likely be canned along with Idiotzik.

Taken with a fat grain of salt of course with it being Pencil Neck Manish.

Why are those arguments bullshit? Just because you claim them to be bullshit arguments, doesn't make them bullshit arguments.

Point number one is classic.. The argument is that he has proven that he has what it takes as a head coach to get us deep into the playoffs, with a roster that actually has balanced talent across the board. We have had some of the worst rosters in football for the past four years. So, with that in mind, that is not the HC fault. You blame the guys bringing in the roster, not the coach who just coaches who he is given.

Point number two is bullshit too? That's hilarious. I don't even need to defend that argument, it is a proven fact, the guy absolutely knows defense.

Point number three, well, see point number two.

All of those things are elements that you want out of your head coach, you can't just dismiss them because you feel like it. You can make your initial statement like that all day long but you are really just trying to avoid those arguments, trying to make those arguments look bad, make them irrelevant so no pro Rex supporter has anything left to counter you.

It doesn't work though because those arguments are valid.

Who are these promising rookies that he is neglecting over the "old and slow" vets? Honestly, are you kidding me?

His team is made up of a bunch of guys that wouldn't even be a starter on most teams, which was made apparent after we let go a number of guys and nobody in the league wanted anything to do with them. You can only coach up guys so much, it is up to the players to take off, the ones with promise are, the ones that wont be on this team after today haven't. It's that simple.

His defensive scheme has been successful each year he has been here. It may not have lived up to the standard that he has instilled in prior years but he has still put together a top 10 defense during his tenure as couch of this team. Including this year, which had journeyman CB's on both sides of the field all year long.

You want to blame the guy for everything, cool, but reality says that there a ton a variables for the type of season we had this year. Despite it all, the team never quit, always played hard, and was in the majority of these games despite how flawed this roster really was.

He is a great coach, It will be a mistake to let him go.

This was one of the sloppiest, bungling, portly prepared teams in recent nfl history. That falls on the head coach. Rex was not great or even mediocre.

If Jets are going into a new direction for the team does that mean we are going to hire an Offense minded HC because if you look at the last couple HC we've had they are all defense minded HCs.

It really doesn't matter if they come from the offensive or defensive side background.
What matters is they concern themselves with the idea that they are the Head Coach and are in charge of overseeing everything.
