Dear students How did you like the gym teacher who bought you beer in HS? Who cares what players think- really
I love Rex as well but its time for a change...enough with a clueless offense...burning timeouts...stupid 12 men penalties...loyalty and stubbornness to a fault a defense that can't buy a turnover...3rd and long conversions...inept red zone play etc etc
I'm sure the players had nice things to say about Herm Edwards after he left. Doesn't mean the Jets made a mistake getting rid of him. It's a poor reflection that the only times this team could get motivated enough to win was mostly when Rex was on the verge of being fired.
Herm isnt half the coach on either side of the ball that Rex is. We might be firing the best defensive mind in football. I dont think fans realize that.
Of course, how foolish of me. I forgot that no one else is capable of coaching this defense. Our poor future defensive coordinator probably won't get 6 first round picks for his defense either. How will he ever survive here?
Nope. I think the problem lies much deeper than our head coach. We have a terrible GM and we have had terrible offensive coordinators. Firing Rex doesn't solve the problem. Believe me
Just because Rex is a PLAYERS COACH and is extremely likeable does not make him a great HEAD coach. He puts too much confidence in others to make decisions that should be made by him, does a poor job of in-game adjustments, the incredible lax nature of players leading to innate amounts of penalties...Basically, a lack of discipline. He probably is the best coach to play for from a players POV, he is easy going and super chill as a boss. Too much of a hardass (Mangini) can go against you, just as much as if you are sugar coating your players (Rex)
Well fans with that mindset are going to have to learn the hard way. Its scary to think how bad our D would've been this season considering our secondary without Rex's gameplans.
