Season is over with us locked in at pick five or six. Both Mariota and Winston should be off the board. In my opinion we will be better off without either of them. Using our whole draft or even worse next year's # 1 would be a huge risk if the player busts.

The question is who do you want in the draft?

My favorite targets are listed below:

Todd Gurley RB Georgia is one of the most talented running backs to come out of the draft since Adrian Peterson. You could make a case for another RB such as MGIII being a better runner but Gurley is a big punishing runner that is a complete back that can pass block and catch passes out of the backfield. Before tearing his ACL he was sure to go in the top 10. There is a small chance he could fall to us in round two but to be safe I would try to at least obtain pick 26. He could go as high as 17 despite the injury.

Marcus Peters CB Washington is the most talented CB in the draft but was kicked off of his team. He is the lock down corner that we need. Teams will be very interested in what he says in interviews. He could go as low as round three but a great combine could put him into the middle of round one.

TJ Clemmons OT Pittsburgh is a converted defensive lineman with limited experience at the position. He is a big athletic player that has made huge strides this year. While somewhat raw he looks to be a franchise left tackle down the road. He started this year as a day two or three pick but looks to be a first rounder. He could go anywhere from the middle of round two to the ninth overall pick.

Eric Kendricks ILB UCLA is a tackling machine with good instincts and coverage skills. Currently going between the middle of round two and the top of round three in many mock drafts but could sneak into round one after the combine.

Michael Orakpo OLB Texas State is the younger brother of Brian Orakpo. He tore his ACL in the second game of the season. Before that he had under-performed but is a physical freak with a ton of upside. We could probably get him anywhere from round five to round seven.

this should probably be in the draft section - but in the first round I would go with the top pass rusher if Cooper is off the board or the top OT prospect.

I think Winston's got a serious shot to be there by 6 unless someone trades up for him. The Titans like Mettenberger and if Whisenhunt is kept, I doubt he and their GM(If kept) goes with a rookie QB to go and save his/their jobs.

Probably but now that the season is over I think we can talk draft here.

Pass rusher would not be a bad choice if we stay put but I would rather trade down. Also, I want to get at least one pass rusher in free agency instead of putting all of our eggs in the draft basket.

OT is strange because there seems to be little consensus on how they rank. Some of the tackles ranked highest now may be better at RT or OG. I like Clemmons and Staley, both underclassmen who have been rising up the draft boards.

If the Titans trade for Cutler, then I think Winston is off the board for them. Winston could fall to us at #6.

Clemmons might end up there but I would like to trade down.

None of the guys you mentioned are worthy of where we will be drafting.
I think there is a reasonable chance Gurley will be there in round 2, if so I grab him in a heartbeat -- but I do not trade up for him.

I think the best option in the first round is Brandon Scherff.

There is no reason to believe both Qbs will necessarily be drafted before the Jets pick. There are no Andrew Luck's this year. Anyone can fall.

I don't think Gurley makes it out of round one. I am hoping we can move up and or down to pick 26 for him.

Scherff is a very powerful run blocker but might do better as a guard in the pros.

True but if Winston has a bad combine / Wonderlic / interviews and is dropping for good reasons do we still want him?

They aren't off the table. Tennessee very well may trade for Cutler, Lovie may not like Winston or Mariota, and they both may just slip.

But if we can't land the QB'S or Cooper I'd want

Schreff, Thompson, Gregory, or Ronnie Stanely (if he comes out)

I agree on Scherff not thinking Left Tackle -- but either right tackle or guard.

The draft section is for draft talk.

    1. They are not off the table. It's months away
    2. Gurley was absolutely never a top 10 lock, nobody takes backs in the 1st anymore especially not the top half.
