    Let's see ...
    Carroll - works
Shannahan - works but only coached 20 games before the Broncos and was 8-12.
Coughlin - wrong ... Won in Jax
Dungy - wrong ... Won in Tampa
Vermeil - wrong ... Won in Philly

Pretty short list. Try again. Coaches don't lose for years and then go win somewhere else. Doesn't happen.

You said to name coaches who were fired for losing (as if there is any other reason for being fired), and then went on to win somewhere else as a head coach. All five I mentioned were fired and subsequently went on to win a Super Bowl somewhere else.

Losing means LOSING. Not having a bad season and being fired. Rex has a 6 year losing record. Check the records of the other guys you mentioned before they went to stop #2. Losing coaches rarely, if ever go somewhere else and win.

BTW ---- exactly the reason I say NO FUCKING WAY to Mora Jr.... A lifetime NFL loser. No thanks.

4 consecutive non-winning seasons, where do you THINK people stand?

4 years w/o a winning season, he's done. It's not ALL his fault, but coaches don't survive this kind of thing. Only thing is right now I don't trust Idzik for ANYTHING, let alone picking the right HC. Time for a clean sweep.

Having said that, I have no idea who replaces either of them, and the retreads being mentioned in the media make me nauseous.

Coughlin had 4 out of 8 losing seasons in Jacksonville (including the last three) before being fired.

Carroll lost his one season in NY (went 6-10) before being fired.

Shannahan had a losing record in both of his seasons in Oakland before being fired.

Dungy had a progressively worse record each of his last three seasons (although a winning record) in Tampa and was fired. Tampa won the Super Bowl the next year with the same players.

Vermeil had 3 out of 7 losing seasons in Philadelphia before being fired.

Now, is this going to be one of these conversations where you make things up, I point it out and then you proceed to make up something else? Because if so, I would like it if you'd point out where you're going to move the goalposts to next; so I can be there waiting for you.

Here's an idea. How about you stop being a wiseass and answer the question?
If you don't understand what a losing record is, I can't help you.

EDIT -- I'll help you out. Forrest Gregg lost in Cleveland for a few years and then took Cincy to the SB. There's one.

I love Rex. He probably has to go at this point, but I will have more good memories of him as head coach than bad ones.

The thing that worries me the most about Rex being fired is that he will be working someplace else very soon. We know that the defensive players love him and I'm worried that some, like Wilk, might choose go with him when they become free agents. We have some good to decent players coming up in free agency and if Woody doesn't choose people who will make the Jets into a good team I can see an exodus of our best talent.

Anybody else watch the Rex presser after the game?

Was it just me or did it seem like Rex was extra spunky and acting like he knew something that nobody else did?

I think he might be coming back. Could be wrong, It just really seemed like he was extra chipper, even in spite of the win.

Also the way he responded to some of the questions... Like saying..

"Last time I checked, I was still under contract as the NYJ HC, so we'll see."

I think it's more that he knows he's gone, so no pressure, no worries, nothing to lose, just let it all hang.

Rex's pals in the press (ie. Mehta, Cimini, etc) again saying how great Rex is (because he gives them good copy) and sticking it to Idzik for his no comment. What do they want him to say. Thanks for getting me fired, motherfucker.

    Screw Rex

Judge him without using the words

    "If"
    "But"
    "Only"

When you do, you see he is a fucking useless tool.
