What an effort today by this whole Jets team, week 17 in a supposedly meaningless game! The players love their coach, Rex Ryan, and desperately want him to stay. They know that, most likely, whatever new coach the Jets bring in will be a step back. They know how good a head coach Rex Ryan is, just like most of the NFL does. It's understandable that many Jets fans would be fed up after the last couple seasons, but after the emotions subside, an intelligent, in-depth analysis will reveal that Rex did a great job when his GM supplied him with a good enough roster (his first 2 seasons that ended in the AFC championship game). It's only after his roster has eroded that Rex's teams have struggled. The pieces just haven't been there. So please, Woody Johnson, if you're reading this , please don't let us lose a great HC, and give Rex a chance with a better GM and improved roster!
Yea I'm sure Woody Johnson goes to fan message boards after games to read the newest threads, better off tweeting his wife or him for that matter if your hoping by some miracle for him to read that
Sounds like he's gonna give the GM the option of retaining him. Great performace to end the season, but all things considered, this is now four straight seasons of being .500 or (much) worse.
Rex just got the gatorade bath from his players....so sad to see that this might be his last game here. ...btw, I think I'll trust the opinion of actual NFL players over fans on a bulletin board.
They love him so much that they played like a bunch of slapdicks until the season was over. Maybe play well earlier in the year and avoid the situation completely.
Yes, it is that bad. We lost our #1, #2, and #3 CBs to injury and and stupidity. We picked a Safety in the first round who struggles to tackle people. We signed ONE receiver at the beginning of the season who isn't good enough to be a #1. Our o-line contains an old left tackle who regularly gets beat, a rookie left guard who is very hit or miss and gets too many penalties, a great center who can't do it on his own, a right guard who commits a penalty every other play, and an average right tackle. Rex was given nothing to work with this year. It's a miracle we got four wins in the first place. We should have been a 2 win team at best with this level of talent.
Yeah, the GM lost 12 games. Great coaching Rex, see you on ESPN with Gruden and all of the other fired coaches.
These guys are playing for jobs. They know Rex is gone and that has absoluteley nothing to do with it.
Great, we win another meaningless game as we always do at the end of a season! Lets see Geno do that against a half decent team!
