6 years of below average offense, zero division titles, wasted draft picks, countless game management issues and a losing overall record. Entertaining at times, but 2010 was a long time ago. It's clearly time for a change.
Hard call but the guy has worn out his welcome in Jet land. Would love to see him stay in another capacity (duel hc system), BUT????
Love Rex, he will go to some other team and win a damn championship. Rex would be even better then Belicheat if he had a Tom Brady playing QB for him. If Rex's new team has a decent QB expect him to be a torn in many teams side. Sadly it's time for a change and we trained another teams great coach.
This is the most split I've ever been about us keeping any kind of GM, or coach. If we didn't have such a terrible GM, and our OC was actually good enough to get even decent QB play, I think Rex has SB winning potential. I just don't see us getting those other things done, so maybe an offensive minded HC is for the best. The 1 thing I do know, is that I would not be happy with a new HC who is also defensive minded. My official vote was fire, but either way I will go with it, and try to find the optimism, wherever the hell it is at this point.
Good bye Rex,,,,,great def coordinator ,,,,,not a great coach ! All been documented,,,,terrible with clock management, s not involved in the offense or special teams,,,, loyal to a fault to veterans ,,,,talked the talk especially the first 2,years but sadly could not walk. The walk ! Good bye Rex
A top DC, but not a HC. Sometimes it's better to know where your strengths are, Rex. He should remember that for his future employer(s). See ya.
As he's the head coach, he's responsible for the offense and the defense. He's been pretty good with his defensive schemes, and good -- if not excellent at developing talent along the defensive front. Rex hasn't been able to do the same in the secondary, preferring to get already developed corners and safeties. Additionally, the offense... the results speak for themselves. Rex is a talented football guy, but the franchise and us fans deserve better than what he's been able to provide. Thanks for the good times, Rex, but it's time to go.
Rex was good for the organization, some good times, some bad times - but it's time for both parties to move on...
I'm sure Rex is pleased with his season. His D was ranked sixth overall in the NFL. And any criticism deflected toward the GM for not getting him a cover corner. If only it was so simple. If Rex goes to another team will his network of leaks (and excuses) go with him, too. I sure hope so.
I think if he is fired Rex will win a Superbowl before the Jets do. As a HC elsewhere. Oh, how that would sting.
