Oh okay... well, about 4 - 5 people on this board, at least that I've heard, actually believe that the Jets are a viable candidate to move to Los Angeles. I thought you were person number 5 or 6. Basically, like you alluded to, teams with new stadiums don't move. I think a few decades from now the Jets and Giants will build another stadium right near the current one, because they won't want to pay for an entire stadium when they can just pay for half.
I still think Hardbaugh could be a possibility and that's only because Woody knows how desperate the fan base is and ticket sales will go to shit next season if he drops the ball. What could change that?throwing money at Hardbaugh would make the break up from Rex feel a lot better even if it isn't the best option
The fact that Woody wasn't impressed on a coach who went on to go to 3 straight NFC Championship Games and 1 Super Bowl appearance has me terrified that we will ever get it right with him.
He's proably saying to himself ,if the roster didn't get destroyed every year since our last playoff appearence then maybe Rex could of got us similar results. Its unrealistic to be able to stay at that level with the worst qb play in the league
Yes, and that is true. i'm still worried though, if he really was unimpressed with Harbaugh who has proven to be a great coach and program rebuilder.
It truly is frightening and that's why I have zero faith. It's almost as if the Jets need to get this right in spite of Woody, rather than because of anything he does to contribute to the cause. He truly doesn't understand anything about football and that's why all of these consultants are getting involved. We can only pray that Wolf or someone of his caliber is part of the selection team for our next GM and HC.
First I don't think the Jets would match the reported Michigan money. It's almost double what he's paying Rex. And his team has more talent and is coming off of a mediocre season. I see the Jets taking a guy like the Denver OC. Or one of the other top Coordinators.
Can we really afford to have another HC learn on the job? It's time to get one w/ HC'ing experience. I don't know which of the college coaches are looking to jump into the NFL, but I certainly would look at Sumlin or Brian Kelly (I don't see Malzahn making the jump, but add him too if he'd be interested) if we don't land Harbaugh.
Why Sumlin or Kelly. They are coming off of mediocre years. In all cases you're taking a chance with an unknown quantity. Unless they get a guy like Cowher.
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Where-will-Jim-Harbaugh-end-up.html This article says we'd be Harbaugh's second/Third option. I'm sure Woody could outbid Oakland, but I don't see how we can beat out Michigan.
