If only there was a team in desperate need of a new HC /QB combo.... hmmm

Yeah we are.. But not that combo. Kaep is a scrub & harbaugh didnt help him peak.. Unless he already did. That offense is a mess and with ours they would be even messier

I think players would respect a guy with adamantium claws.

kaepernick is NOT a scrub. He's having a tough year (by Kaepernick standards not Jets QB standards) but he's still got a bright future in this league. Sometimes you have tough years. There are a lot of guys on that 49er team that have packed it in early this year through the turmoil. I'm sure that hasn't helped.

I was listening to a football expert from Yahoo sports I believe a couple weeks ago and he was perplexed about Kaepernick. By all accounts he's a tireless worker and a student of the game he was just in a slump. The guy bashed RGIII saying he didn't have the work ethic/focus to succeed but Kaepernick does, just in a slump. He looked great Saturday night in the Charger game maybe he is crawling out of it.

Its unlikely but if this organization could swing Harbaugh and Kaepernick... wow.. out of the dark ages this offense would FINALLY become

but harbaugh alone would be a giant step towards fixing this offense as he has coached up his QBs everywhere he's been. a prerequisite in my mind for the next coach here.

My dad is a huge 9er fan so I keep up with them weekly also. Kaep made a couple key throws over his career... His best ability is running.. He makes stupid decisions all the time. Jim was successful there via heavy run (KAEP on his feet included) & great defense.. Then this year they went out and put together what could be the scariest offense in the league with heavy weapons for kaep and a big contract. So they passed this year a lot more and boy has it been awful. For one of the most hyped QB's and a great "qb coach" they sure don't look like it. If they can't prosper with that than what would they really do for us?

I really don't think you know what you are talking about. They have prospered there. The weapons there are a little overrated anyway. I don't know if there is a more overrated player in this league than Crabtree... but that's a side debate.

Kaepernick is a good young QB with big game experience and Harbaugh is a great coach. It would be a dream that this year's stumble is just enough for the 49ers & the rest of the league to undervalue both of them so the Jets can pull off the unlikely scenario of acquiring them as a pair.

Look for the 49ers to slide back into irrelevancy/losing after Harbaugh leaves by the way..

YEs they have prospered, but not through the QB it was through the running game and defense, the numbers will show you i do know what im talkin about. The record will show you i do know what im talking about, and the current state of the franchise (which looks to be looking at other options at QB and HC) shows that i know what im talking about. Kaep played damn good against the jags and other teams with bottom 10 defenses, and in that same year he struggled BADLY against the top 10 defenses..

Really?? He is an interesting candidate.. Head Coached his way up from each level. His offense is an NFL offense too..

Also he's a coach who has won by coaching and not recruiting

Would he really leave the golden pockets of Notre dame though?

Give me a head coach who can reach the playoffs every year and win a SB once every ten years without a QB. Oh wait, there aren't any. None. Zero. Nada.

If we can't have a franchise QB who make everyone elses job easier and wins SBs, then give me a HC that's a fucking riot. Give me Rex.

I would like someone who can develop a QB. The problem with an OC is he could leave after a year, for reasons good or bad. A HC is here for the duration. That is why I would prefer an offensive guy

Can't get players in. That's why Meyer turned them down. They want to be Harvard Monday thru Fri. and Florida St. on Sat. Can't be done.

Bowles. Has had a great defense the past few years and also in Philly and Miami. Think he chooses this over other jobs due to pieces assembled on defense already.

Grew up 15 minutes from Met Life Stadium.

Played safety under Casserly in Washington.

Just hope he can be smart about who he hires as an offensive staff.

Philly finished the season ninth in pass defense and twenty-third in rushing defense under Bowles as a DC. I don't think anyone would call that a great defense. Sounds average to me.

Also, Arizona is his first DC job in the NFL. Not to mention he knows nothing about offense.

The Jets can't afford to go with a risky first time HC hire who is only a first time coordinator and doesn't have an offensive background.

Bowles would be a good DC for the Jets.

Even tho it's looking like a longshot, I'd love to see Harbaugh going crazy on the sidelines
