In other news gotta give Colon an award he made it through an entire game without committing a penalty woooooo
He continues to look like a player And has since Kansas City. I'd say they've found a piece of the future, perhaps even as a starter. Looks WAY better than Dee Milliner did in his rookie year
This is what you're supposed to do when you don't have anyone at a given position. You just rotate different scrubs through until you get lucky and find the rare unheralded guy who can step in and immediately play at a starter level. The Jets wasted too much time earlier in the season trying to make Antonio Allen a cornerback, when they should have been plugging in different UDFAs and waiting for someone to click.
He did alright today, I fell into this trap with Walls, physical ability has to be taken into account and I question his ability to cover receivers without help every down.
He should be brought back as a depth guy along with Walls. As starters I think they are overmatched but would be great nickel and dime guys. Time for Wilson to go.
Every time a guy makes a play he gets a thread on here See:Antonio Allen,Phillip Adams,Jakwon Jarret all have gone on to do nothing since a thread was made about them
Williams has been pretty good, don't know how good his man to man skills are, but he always seems to be in the right place with his head turned around
yeah, I get the point, but there has to be SOME ray of hope for the roster and new guys. Allen and Walls looked awful yesterday, btw.
Being a bust is ok...it happens the real issue is telling yourself he's good and sticking with the player...half the reason why Rex wont be back
Heh. Well, I am totally on board with getting rid of Idzik, but that position is based on some key mistakes and overall poor results. I do not have to say, and I don't think, that ALL his moves were bad ones in order to reach that conclusion. In a down year there's merit to churning the players on the field until you find some good ones. The Jets did not do enough of htat this year (see Simms, for example), and I did not like that, but they have done some. M Williams just might prove to be a good player. I am not saying ink him in as next year's #2 cb. But I think he makes the roster.
I hope you are right. As long time Jets fans I think we have had a lot of bums get our hopes up before revealing their true colors. With the rest of the secondary sucking badly mediocre play can look good by comparison. I still think Millner could amount to something. As much as I hated the pick I hope I was wrong about McDougle.
I'm pretty sure this secondary has been better (though not as good as it needs to be, of course) since around the KC game and I think the play of Williams is a part of that. I think they need to sign a very good free agent CB and let the young draft picks Milliner and McDougle get a shot at starting, but if you put Williams to compete with those two, I wouldn't be surprised if he beat them out based on what I've seen out of him
