Lovie Smith likes more mobile QBs like Smith and Glennon is a BIG statue with a strong arm. I liked Glennon coming out of college and still do. Geno can only dream of a season like Glennon had his rookie season. Glennon as a rookie with limited prep and reps posted 19 TDs and only 9 Ints with 59.4% completion rate. Last year Geno had all the reps and posted 12 TDs and 21 Ints. I think Glennon with the right OC and a good running game could be an average NFL QB, and an Average 15-20 QB would be awesome compared to what we have had. I would then draft Sean Mannion who is very similar to Glennon to come in and be a #2 and possible start if needed. With Simms as a #3 or #2 if needed. Mannion is a 4 year starter with 13,600 yards passing in college and a 65% career completion percentage. I feel Mannion would be a steal in the fourth rounds. I would be happy going into the 2015 season with Glennon, Mannion & Simms. Let’s be realistic we are not getting Mariota and I want no part of Winston. Compared to Vick and Smith my line-up would be pretty solid.
I could be talked into trading for Glennon and drafting Amari Cooper. I think Glennon's ceiling is roughly Matt Schaub pre-decline (slightly above average).
without a doubt yes. dude looks like a damn stork but he's twice the QB Geno is. Tampa staff are dumbasses imo for playing McCown over him.
No reason he hasn't had more success this year in Tampa with Mike Evans and V-Jax. He has looked nothing like he did last year. I would obviously not be opposed to giving him a chance but wouldn't trade anything for him. The guy I really want to give another chance to is Sam Bradford. RGIII and Cutler... No
Of course you do that. But we wouldn't be able to get a 6th rounder for Geno right now, nevermind a QB with a higher ceiling. Even if Glennon isnt starter worthy he's still would be a decent enough backup. And at the same time rid Jet fans of the disaster QB play that we had to witness this year by getting Geno off the roster.
Absolutely. Glennon has been much better in his first two years than Geno. Not even close. I like Glennon's upside better too
In a heartbeat. I'd even trade a draft pick (up to a 3rd) for Glennon.....because no one is trading for Geno. Glennon is WAAAAAY better than Geno. I brought him up the other day in the QB for 2015 thread. Glennon is my top choice among the possible vet QBs. With Cooper in the draft, this becomes a big upgrade.
I want Glennon here but we're not getting him for dogshit Geno. He'll be available and hopefully our new GM will trade what it takes to get him.
Exactly. What's the point? Even if you like Glennon, you can probably pick him up as an FA. BTW, I wouldn't trade Geno.
