Lets see, championship on the line and 0-3....3-4 as a starting QB.....how is that stepping up big Junc?
Be real, junc. If it was Peyton Manning, you'd be calling him Mr. October again. If it was Phillip Rivers, you'd refer to him as "just a numbers guy," etc, etc. Be real.
No matter how you slice it, that just isn't very consistent with how you have gone about defending Sanchez, or, for that matter, evaluating NFL quarterbacks in general, for the last 6+ years.
I am always consistent. I grade the top QBs like Manning and Brady differently, I hold them to higher standards than top 10-20 QBs like Mark but I am always consistent. Show me a game like Saturday that Peyton lost where I pinned all the blame on Peyton?
It didn't hit the ground. It was on top of the guy's arm. Take off the tinted glasses for once. He completed short passes, hence he only had 7.5 YPA in 50 attempts. They failed in the red zone. Their kicker had missed just twice all season and has been dealing with a groin injury. That interception came with a chance to win the game. Enough of your excuses. Just embrace reality and admit he sucks and that he destroyed their season. Two more turnovers. He has 14 on the season in just 8 games. 57.4 QBR. He sucks. It's over. He will never get another opportunity to be a full-time starter. He's a backup at best.
Except when discussing Sanchez, apparently. On what planet is Mark Sanchez a top 10-20 NFL quarterback? Did you forget he was a backup?
He has more than enough help. He has one of the best RBs in the game. He has two great receivers, two good tight ends, an X-factor in Sproles, and a good o-line. Their secondary sucks, but they have an elite pass rush. He sucks.
8 games (7 starts) 13 total touchdowns, 14 total turnovers, 57.4 QBR (16th out of 32 qualified QBs), 87.3 passer rating (18th out of 32 qualified QBs), sacked 19 times All while having arguably the best running back in football, an elite receiver in Maclin, a top rookie in Matthews, a pair of solid tight ends, Sproles who is the most dangerous everyman in the league, a good o-line, and an offensive guru coaching him, and an elite pass rush. Their kicker has a hurt groin and he missed just two tries before Saturday. The Eagles are 4-4 with him, 0-3 in December, 1-4 against teams above .500. Enough.
one of the best RBs in the game who hasn't played like it most of the time. 1 great WR, on offense he has more than enough talent, he's leading them to almost 30 PPG. the problem isn't the offense. the D never really recovered when Ryans went down.
offense PPG under Mark: 27 PPG offense PPG under Foles: 22 PPG defense PPG allowed in games w/ Mark: 25.5 PPG defense PPG allowed in games w/Foles: 21.3 PPG
That's all there is to it. Mark played awful in the last 3 games. There's no excuse for Mark putting up more TOs then TDs. You can't count on him to throw more than 25 times because more than likely he will turn the ball over more than 1 time. You can't put more responsibility on Mark's plate - it's a death sentence.
Funny the people you ridiculed for putting up these stats you now resort to them for your last breath in this discussion. I'm guessing that low awful throw away from Maclin at the end of the game was a good throw? Or was it Maclin's fault?
Why do you continue to ignore the fact that when they had to beat fellow contenders, he turtled up and shat the bed? McCoy is still 5th in the NFL in rushing, just 26 yards behind Lynch for 3rd. Matthews is very, very good. Continue to make excuses.
