Any other QB that throws a pick with the game on the line would get some blame on it, especially if it's a QB who has a history of turning the ball over, and Sanchez has that in spades. BTW Washington only scored 27 points, not 31. They won by 3 points, you know the number of points they picked up after the sanchez fumble. 'it was a terrible call' Just another excuse, 'it should have been roughing the passer', 'it was deflected', 'it was junk time' (despite being under 13 point spread), 'the receiver ran the wrong route', the list of excuses flows for days and days and days.
bahahahahahha @ terrible call. Even I wasn't expecting that So lame when people just can't say they were wrong I was wrong for mocking soxxx's prediction of the Cowboys winning the east. (even though he picked the eagles too) It really isn't that big of a deal. I guess for some people it is though
Mark Sanchez is a terrible NFL starting QB. Enjoy the Philly Cheesesteaks Sanchez and fanboys this winter. End of discussion.
He turns the ball over too much. It was his problem with the Jets, and its his problem here. He doesnt make the plays to offset his mistakes. He was given an opportunity to put himself on display for other teams. Maybe be signed as a starter in the offseason. That isnt happening now. He's a backup QB right now.
ball hit the ground and moved. ball can touch ground on catch but it cannot move. It was a bad call but even putting that aside- why couldn't D get a stop? Mark led them back from 10 pts down on the road in the 4th qtr. the D allowed 27 pts to a Redskin O that scored as many as 27 pts only 1 other time since week 4 and that was in a 49-27 blowout.
Hey Junc, remember when 3 weeks ago the Eagles were a game up in the division, owned the tie breaker, etc? What team is 0-3 since Thanksgiving? What team is now eliminated? What QB is under .500 as a starting QB since taking over mid season? What QB since that midseason takeover leads the league in turnovers during that time period?
He blew his only chance at a career redemption.. playing for Chip Kelly & that offense. By doing what? turning the ball over They will move on and he will have to sign somewhere else where it will be tougher slugging it out. Kinda feel bad for him because this was a good chance for him to become a starter. If he's smart he'll recognize he's a good backup & teammate and sign somewhere with a successful team and an established starter and collect paychecks for years. He could have a long career. If he's not smart he will hang onto thoughts of trying to be a starter and signing with one of the many teams with crap offenses and/or shaky starters. He was smart when he signed with Philly though so maybe he will be smart again and ultimately decide he wants to be in the league more than he wants to start.
Hey junc if that was Peyton in that spot, I'm 99.999% sure you'd rip him for choking in a big spot. But since it's Sanchez you make more excuses. Sanchez put up fantasy stats but still lost the game, this is the very thing you're supposedly against right?
name me the games where Peyton threw a bogus INT, completed near 75% of his passes on a 50 attempt day, led his O to 24 pts, had 2 makeable FGs missed and saw his D allow 27 pts? find that and then we can discuss.
How about you go find it. Lol at posting his stats I thought stats meant nothing and wins is all that mattered?
It really is comical. Junc, you can't have it both ways. Either statis . . . er . . . I mean, "fantasy numbers" are meaningless or they aren't. What you tend to do is diminish the significance of those "fantasy numbers" whenever they don't benefit Sanchez in a particular debate (which, not surprisingly, is the vast majority of the time), but then, amazingly, pull them out in his defense in the small percentage of times when they actually paint him in a better light. That simply isn't objective or fair. In fact, it's blatantly intellectually dishonest. And you know what's funny? I basically agree with you that Sanchez had a very good game on Saturday evening. He is far from the only reason they lost the game. He made a lot of plays for his team. But, with the game on the line, he threw an unforgivable interception that cost his team dearly. You have to be able to acknowledge that reality and move on without babbling about statis . . er . . . I mean "fantasy numbers" . . . Not you . . . Not when it comes to Sanchez . . . Not ever.
wins matter but one of the reasons Peyton is overrated is b/c he can't get it down in big games. 24 pts, bringing your team back from 10 down on the road is getting it done. Not his fault his D allowed 27 pts, K missed 2 big kicks.
where have I posted stats as the be all end all? I have not discussed his individual #s overall, discussing the game Saturday where he was outstanding for the majority and bad call on a bad throw helped lose the game but they aren't in the game w/o him. if this was any other QB he wouldn't be blamed.
So, your argument is that, because Peyton Manning never played in a game that evolved with nearly identical statistical metrics in six different categories (what are the odds? A billion to one? More?), there is no basis for a comparison between the two quarterbacks?
