Rex Ryan should have had a veteran QB since day 1. I think things would have turned out very differently had we had at least a middle of the pack starter and not a young pup learning on the fly every fucking year.

It's an absolute joke to think that Revis and Cromartie are worth 8 wins. How much did Revis help Tampa last year? Of all the years to spend money on CBs, this was not the year. The failure to develop QBs and run a modern NFL offense is the reason for Ryan's demise, not the loss of Mevi$ and Cromartie .

Damn good coach but the politics of a results based business will see him out and the record earned it but he definitely will get another shot somewhere and have success.

There was a chance to sign both Cro and Revis in the offseason.

This guy forgot about all of Chad's red zone picks. He was basically Sanchez bro. Never thought I'd see nostalgia goggles for Pennington *sigh*

You know what else sucks? The last 4 games against NE. We outplayed them. We could have easily won all 4 over these bastards.

All I can say is this.... Rex is on his way out for a number of reasons, some legit and some BS. For all his faults he played against the Pats and the best coach in the world unbelievably well and tougher than any other coach. Before we jump for glory we better get a HC that is a true improvement over Rex. And it won't be easy. Rex with a savvy GM and a real QB could have been a different story.

It remains to be seen if we change for the better or the worst

The "politics" of a results based business? Rex is getting fired for his overt lack of results over the last four seasons, not for some phantom semblance of "politics."

What "BS" reasons are you referring to? Rex is getting fired because his team has amassed four straight non-winning, non-playoff years and is 17-33 in its last 50 games. What part of that is "BS?"

Meaning only record is taken into account and nothing else which is fair but he will definitely be given another HC job whether you like him or not.

"only record is taken into account and nothing else" is FAR from any sort of "politics," IMO.

Any chance Rex would stay on as DC, maybe if Dennis Thurman is promoted as the next HC?

We kicked their asses all over the field twice and found ways to lose. Yesterday was a typical meltdown, but the game @NE earlier was truly one of the most pissed off I've ever been after a loss. Our problems in the red zone have cost us 5 games.

But, that's the thing, bad teams routinely move the ball well in between the 20's and consistently fail in the red zone.

Spot on. To me, it was counting on a Ground and Pound offense without an OL to deliver. They eroded every single aspect of offense during his tenor. From the OL to the WRs to the QB. Now, in my opinion, they ruined Sanchez by taking first his threats at WR, then his OL, then, finally, importing Tebow. How is anyone supposed to win like that? And, sure, the defense is ok. But, as mentioned above, they never addressed the second level of the defense and then depleted the secondary.

And then there's the whiffing on 1st day draft picks over the years: Gholston, Ducasse, Wilson, Hill, Milliner (maybe). These are way too many whiffs. The scouting folks have to go!!

Rex Ryan lost the team a couple of years ago. They started failing at the most critical times. And then there were the blowouts. I think a very damning thing was Ryan's record after a bye, probably the worst in the NFL, something like 1-5?

Agreed. And we are a bad team. It makes it extra painful to see them leave 17 pts on the field every week. It's one thing to get destroyed every second week like in 2013, and another to lose 6-7 heartbreakers. This has been a really tough season to sit thru.
