That's like Oregon entering the NCAA playoffs against FSU and the Alabama. Even if your top four you still lose.
Geno lost us this game. I'm sorry, not the o-line not the D. Geno shit the bed at crunch time again, I hate this kid....
He had a clean pocket most of the game, and the receiver he threw to had hi/low bracket coverage it was a pick no matter who hit em.
He doesn't give the Pat defender a chance for the pick if the throw isn't altered. Same situation in green bay when Winters got blown off on the snap and Jones of GB hits Geno to cause the INT.
Usually a football season goes by pretty fast....but this season feels like 8 months... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No one is making excuses for Geno. The excuse making for Geno is nowhere as close as the excuse making for Mark. With that said on that play he was hit as he threw the ball. We saw a similar int with Brady where he got hit as he threw thus altering the pass. Quit nitpicking everything. QB's make mistakes it's apart of the game.
MM's playcalling was the major culprit personally speaking with the ridiculous use of wildcat and predictable playcalling for the 1st quarter. Geno made some poor plays but it was MM who really had a dud of a game. After a nice year 1, he's been beyond mediocre year 2. I don't want to write Rex off either because I think he has a say in those wildcat calls, he has been using that under 3 diff. OCs.
Speculation, I'll speculate on the side of his history of poor decisions and failure to recognize pressure packages.
The throw got underthrown due to the alteration, I am not saying the Jet receiver catches the ball but I am saying he would have been given a chance to make a play on it.
You're implying Geno would have thrown a pass that wouldn't have been intercepted had he not been hit to that receiver as if that receiver was not DOUBLE COVERED. It was a terrible decision compounded by the breakdown in pass protection, how about he adjust's pass protection fucking once in his career?
You guys are looking at a microcosm of the whole thing. It's all a piece of sh_t. From the owner who looks like his eyes are too small for their sockets to Geno's pick. Somehow Mr. Baby Lotion has to flush the toilet.
It was the same story all around. Geno had a few bad throws, receivers had a few bad plays, OL had trouble blocking the run game, suffered some key pass protection failures, ST had a few bad plays, defense wore down over time and didn't get some key 3rd down stops. Play calling was strange and team was conservative with debatable TO usage.
an entertaining game that told us what we already knew: - we need a QB - The D-line is very good - We need work at the CB and safety positions - Pryor needs to stop trying to make everything a highlight reel and just wrap people up - We need to stop with the wildcat - all it does it destroy whatever groove we might have and if you never pass it pretty much never works Jets have some decent players, we are just lacking where it counts the most.
It's not the same. The packer Int was a good read and was going to be a completion and even with the hit Sudfield had the defender boxed out and it should have never been an INT. Today's INT should never have been thrown. Throwing late over the middle is never good. Not only would Geno to have lay it over the CB but he would need to account for the safety who was there to break up the play if not intercept the ball. It would have to have been a perfect throw and then have a some good luck. It was bad decision. Better to tuck it and run with it or throw it away. I can excuse the Packer throw. That was not on Geno. But this one was.
Would you add something of relevance to the conversation instead of picking anybody who is against Geno Smith?
Its about ball placement where his guy can get up and fight for the ball. He didn't get a chance because the ball ended up getting underthrown due to the pressure. I just don't get how DBrick gets zero flack for that play. I've never seen a player avoid any flack before in my life like Ferguson.
If we hadn't seen parts of what went wrong today earlier with Geno and Vick and with Sanchez from 2011 to 2012 I'd say the Jets threw the game today for draft position. I'd have said the same about the Fin game three weeks ago. However the ways the Jets lost the game today we've seen several times in better seasons. It just is what it is. And BTW, I think Rex in Chicago might be a marriage made in heaven. He has a QB and good players on offense. He has some corners, including a good young one in Fuller. He just needs to make the defense work with a few good pieces missing. Vintage Rex NFC Championship run next year.
see the issue with people is they try to defend poor by excusing his mistakes. If he threw more tds maybe or if he showed up but he does neither and every week there is someone who says what you say. everyone needs to go don't bring geno back. If people ran Sanchez out of town why the patience with geno? poor play is poor play. the difference here is we keep doing the same thing and expect diffrent results with these tools and Sanchez we are close to 8-8 then 3 and 11 you get rid of rex and idzik and keep geno you still have the person who gave up the most and costed us the most games
Wow, hate...it's football, not something important. And I would say that the Jets lost this game. Brady through a pick too. the Jets couldn't even get a field goal after two protection breakdowns. I was disappointed, but I have to say the Jets always seem to have to play perfect to even be in a game offensively.
