Honestly with all the negative press I've seen about Harbaugh's time in SF I'm not entirely sure he's the right HC for the Jets. Mariota is the best QB available, but if he's truly going to become a franchise QB he does need the right coaching staff to bring him along. I'm not sure Harbaugh is the guy. Our 2nd round pick should be spent at CB, LB, OL, or even WR. The Jets have a very good (consistently underrated, even if he's never gonna be AP) running back in Chris Ivory as is - the offense benefits a lot more from adding in a stud OL or red-zone threat WR here than it does from an upgrade at RB.
Let me propose a question: If we somehow ended up with the first pick. Would you consider trading it or just take the QB of your choice? I think if a team threw a couple firsts at us, I'd be inclined to take that deal. If it were a team like Tampa Bay that traded up with us we could still have a top 5 pick. BUT we won't have a franchise QB, most likely.
No. When you have a void as big as we do at QB there is no conceivable scenario where you pass on the opportunity to draft a franchise QB.
take the qb. when you don't have a qb you take the qb. the only reason the rams did the rg3 trade is because they were still all in on bradford.
This week is huge. Say we lose to Titans, Tampa wins against the Panthers. What a beautiful day that would be. Yes I am a fake fan. Didn't know anything about the Jets until I was 27 anyway. Haha
Hope you had a great laugh because I did. That game was entertaining watching the brawl, players arguing with coaches lol.
Oh well, no first overall pick. Let's get a future pro bowler with our 5th or 6th overall pick. Either that or trade down.
I'd almost guarantee we will win next week just because we are the Jets and none of this will matter but I'm pretty sure if the Ravens win there is a chance that we will have the #3 pick going into week 17. I know we have the tie breaker over them but the Jacksonville one is very close as well. Lets go Raiders!
It's so hard to figure out. Would we have tie-breaker over the Jags or not? Either way, they won't be taking Cooper, or a QB, so it shouldn't matter, but still..
As of today it is very very close but it'll change as these games unravel. It wouldn't matter if they stayed put but if Oak/WSH or whoever else wanted to trade up that would be devastating.
If Oakland wins today, and Jax beats Houston next week, is it possible if we lose out and Tampa beats New Orleans that we could pick second to Tennessee? lol
I don't think it's possible for us to pick in front of the Bucs at this point. They have an easier strength of schedule. I could be wrong, though.
