I like Rex and he lead the Jets to some very memorable moments that truly brought life to the Jets. I feel he gets the most out of his player and wears his heart on his sleeve BUT lets face it he will not be here in 2015! So having said that who will it be? I think it will come down to who is our GM... If Idzik gets a chance to hire "his guy" I think he will hire Dan Quinn. Not sure how I would feel about this because there are positive and negatives with this option. The Harbough option is looking like a pipe dream but if Idzik gets the hook and Woody hires a GM that wants to win now... They might throw a brinks truck at him.. I think Pep Hamilton and Adam Gace are the best offensive options but I doubt we go that direction because we never do. There are other options but in my mind the most realistic option is Dan Quinn for better or worse.
http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/whos-your-choice-for-head-coach.82721/ We need an offensive minded HC.
You mean except the "Keep Rex or new D Head Coach" thread were a comment about Dan Quinn could have been made?
At this point the future coach is a pop up. -But I could see it being Rex Again for another two years
We Beat the Pats along with winning the last game. Woody Thinks rex can turn it around again and were stuck for 2 more years.
We already played that game last year by winning our last game against the dolphins. No way is 5-11 gonna cut it when I think Rex would have been gone last year if he went 7-9.
The one guy who might get fired I like is Philbin. To me his teams have always been competitive even though the talent is average/marginal. His problem has been late season collapses which is the reason he's going to be (probably) fired. So if he's available I'd give him an interview for HC not coordinator.
How is moving the team to LA in 2015 possible? It takes a long time to build an NFL stadium, you can't do it in a few months. And then the Jets also have a contract with the New York Giants, where they are responsible for 50% of the costs of MetLife Stadium. Do you think Woody Johnson would really want to pay for 1.5 stadiums? That is absurd. It would turn a guaranteed cash machine (owning an NFL team) into an almost guaranteed cash loser (paying for 1.5 stadiums would wipe out his profit margin.) And that would be until MetLife is paid off - probably another 20+ years or so. Anyone who thinks that the Jets are moving, or that that's even a remote possibility, is unaware of those basic things that would prevent the Jets from moving.
