Bridgewater fell to 32 last year and all it cost the Vikings was a second and fourth. I would trade a 1st, 2nd and 4th every day of the week for Amari Cooper and Connor Cook
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...40heztH0t7-tezRcg&sig2=b88_7ENS0wqtKB8NIV7iIg Cook is staying. It's time to jump on the Shaq Thompson/Brandon Schreff bandwagon!
It's better this way, we should be in contention for this guy anyway next year. For now we focus on building the offensive line and hopefully we can get Cooper too. I assumed he was going back to school.
well there goes that option. maybe we'll see you in 2016 Cook. i don't see us drafting a QB in the first this year. Better find a good vet QB option, and solidify that Oline. I'm looking at Scherff and Collins now.
That's ok though, this is the time to build that foundation. 2016 we could see QBs like Cook, Gunner Kiel and Hackenberg declaring for the draft. All 3 are good prospects.
Good on him for staying. He could use the work. If we don't get a QB this year, then 2016 is the year. Goff, Cook, Hackenberg take your pick.
Probably should have waited until his bowl game but I get he might not have wanted that to hover over the team. Think it is such a roll of the dice, especially when there are quite a bit of QB needy teams sorted all over the draft with St. Louis and Houston probably picking in the middle of the draft. But hey the college life.
Smart decision on his part. He could've slipped up the draft boards ala Tannehil or Locker but he'll highlight next years class for sure.
Not a game manager. That's bad knock on Cook. Last year he was a game manager, this year the opposite, MSU set their all time record as a school with points scored.
Cook is making the right decision by staying. He still needs to work on some things. Mainly footwork, some accuracy issues and consistency. Cook said this offseason he would like to work on how to run with the football more. The guy really seems to love college also, I had a class with him a couple years back, really seemed to be enjoying life, and this was before he was the starter.
This is just not right. If you watch Bortles, he at no point looks overwhelmed fedora working with very young receivers and behind a very bad offensive line. I think he's going to end up making an enormous second year jump. Looks like a poor man's Roethlisberger. Cook, on the other hand, is no doubt a good prospect, but the drop off from Winston to him is quite large. Idk if Cook is a top 20 pick. If the QB class wasn't so shallow, be wouldn't be a first round pick in my opinion. He gives me a Glennon feel, but has played in much bigger games. The OSU tape is impressive, but one game. I would take Cook until the second round and I think it's very possible he could slide below Brett Hundley and Dak Prescott based on potential alone. Even Bruce Petty could leapfrog him. It's very early.
As a MSU fan, I don't think he's that good. Against the better defenses he made some really poor reads and throws.
He's not better than Carr or Bridgewater that's for sure and he's got more talented recievers. Bortles should not have been drafted that high. He hasn't been all that impressive at all. IDK what you're watching. He won't live up to his draft status. As I mentioned previously Cook may not have Winston's potential but Cook does a lot of good things on the field and is the clear cut 3rd QB. He's got a lot of skill sets that translate to the next level and doesn't have the character concerns Winston has. That by default will put him in the first round. Dak and Hundley aren't nearly as good as passers as Cook. Watch the tape, it's not even close and btw I'm referring to Cooks last 2 games against OSU. Very impressive. A strong armed QB that doesn't make a lot of mistakes.
