I think he definitely is. I just think that way rules are enforced he can't maintain the contact that he used to and has had to adjust his game accordingly.
It would be ironic if Rex and the Jets beat the Pats this week. It would be a mirror to his Jets career. One of his best traits was his ability to focus on the Pats and get his team to play great against them. One of his worst was that he put so much emphasis on the Pats that his team often fell flat against other teams they should have beaten.
agreed. I think he's had more impact on the overall D than any other corner. The Pats had some pieces coming together on D last season, but were overall still not very effective. this season is a whole other story. Belichick is utilizing Revis well, and getting his moneys worth. Rather than just competing in an offensive points race, they are now frustrating the shit out of opposing QB's to boot.
The Jets have a shot to run the ball against NE, but not as much a one as I would hope. It will take a great performance by all concerned, which I am greatly hoping for. A win on Sunday would be our Super Bowl this year.
Agreed, but it is unrealistic to think the Jets will even be within 14 by halftime. I see a 41-10 kind of game sadly.
Very nicely said. I for one would be in hog heaven if we beat the Pats, screw up their home field advantage and give the loyal Jet fans something to cheer about. We have had enough negativity. However we all know its tougher said than done, but not impossible. It will require a well executed, almost mistake free and savvy clock management game sprinkled with a few "shock and awe" new plays in offense and defense. We have nothing to loose at this point, we should play aggressive but methodical, and avoid those big bonehead plays that forever kill our momentum. May I also suggest a heavier play time from our younger players and less from some of the veterans on their way out. Give these kids a chance to prove themselves worthy of a 2015 slot.
Why do people keep saying this? Here are our last 3 games against the Patriots. 2013 game 1: We lost 13-10, by 3 points 2013 game 2: We won 30-27, by 3 points 2014 game 1: We lost 27–25, by 2 points 2014 game 2: ?????? I understand we may be a worse team now than we even were a month ago, and the Pats may be a better team. But to anyone who thinks that we will be blown out by during Rex Ryan's last chance to take down Belichick, why?
Some nice big mistakes by the Patsies will also help. Heh. but yeah, f this losing for a higher draft pick, certainly this week. The only team I can think of that would look forward to playing the Pats at Gillette in the playoffs is the Ravens, and at this point they are no sure thing to make it that far.
i'll be in attendance.. if the jets are getting blown out just know thats me that ran on the field to sack brady my damn self.
The Pats are playing for a bye... Fuck them and let's fuck it up.. Oh, and ending Tommy's season and/or career wouldn't be bad either..
Some fans and press are saying that the players will put out a great effort on Sunday for Rex. I haven't really seen it so far this year. If they care so much about him why not a better effort all season long. Usually NEP wins are workmanlike affairs. They slowly but surely take control of a game. Except this season they are dominating.
The worst thing in the world for the Jets to do would be to beat the Patriots. Because, you might keep Ryan and Idzik and that would mean more garbage football. Neither one of those guys is even in the ball park of being able to do those jobs. You fans need to get your sh*t together and understand that getting rid of those 2 guys is key. Also, I wouldn't think of Sanchez as being anymore than what he was when he was in New York, he's a talentless quarterback, that's a fact!
Because the team is done. No fight left in them. The Patriots are on fire and must win to hold off Peyton and the Broncos from the #1 seed. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.
It's sad because after the 2010 season it felt like we finally had a legit coach, qb, and were going to be a competitive team every year. That game in Denver was when I felt our fortunes finally turning, sucks.
