But why is it so foolish FM? I mean, several posters have put up examples of why he should stay but why is getting a billboard and being so opinionated about your team a bad thing? I don't understand why Jet fans are so...well it seems...almost embarrassed? about what these guys are doing. I do not get that at all. Doesn't it show the rest of the league that we are not the Jacksonville Jaguars...or the Oakland Raiders who year in and year out have put up with such mismanagement? The reaction I get from people who are not Jet fans is very neutral...which tells me that such intensity within our fan-base is a good thing. I can and have gone on for hours at nauseam why I think Idzik has destroyed this franchise in 2 years. A poster above...I believe it was GANGREENBLUES...did an actually very good job of listing a few positives concerning Idzik. Still, when you have rooted a franchise that has a fan base list playoff appearances as accomplishments, it adds to the mediocrity we have learned to accept. What Tanny did here...what Mangini did here...even what Herm Edwards (i did choke on my vomit just saying that) was all kind of acceptable for Jet fans. The bottom line is that a GM is graded on draft picks..perhaps 70% and free agents 30%. What he did this year...just throwing away the season before it even started by not addressing the DB position is a fire-able offense. It wasn't like he brought in a few cap guys to hold the fort down..he did nothing. This season was OVER before the first game of the season...and as a Jet fan...THAT'S NOT FAIR. Not when you had a decent offensive line (we all thought it was even better) with a good running game. Had a very solid front 7 that was for the first time in over a decade, able to rush the qb sending just 4 or 5. The defense this year was setup to be dominating. We ALL saw that...all of us. We sat patiently as free agent after free agent came in and left unsigned. We then offered to stay quiet saying that Idzik has a game plan to at least neutralize the problem by either trading or keeping an eye on cuts being made in August.....STILL NOTHING. When the season started and guys were beating our DB's deep...short...over the middle...everywhere, NOBODY was surprised except IDZIK. Did anyone really believe Rex when he said our DB's are good enough to win before the first game of the year. Hate Rex all you want but he is the ultimate company man. With a questionable QB, we needed to have a lights out defense to do damage in the playoffs or a very solid defense to make a run to get to the playoffs. EVERYONE KNEW THAT...except Idzik. We all knew that. Now I'm being asked to trust him in making decisions with all the cap money we have and another draft? Sorry...but I cant just do that..and I truly believe the only way Woody makes any drastic changes is to call him out because Woody is more concerned with his public persona then he is about anything else. So if it takes embarrassing him? So be it.
I am not debating anymore on this forum. Our stance isn't going to change and either is yours. It is a giant waste of time for all parties. Believe whatever you want to believe. At the end of the day - Woody is going to fire Idzik and Rex, and then this place can go back to talking about better things than the firejohnidzik.com web traffic.
I am not embarrassed by the billboard and don't care about it. I dislike the premise based on the fact that none of these people know the how or why these decisions were made, the good ones and the bad ones. We all know how things have played out on and off the field with injuries, ect... We don't know what Woody told Idzik to do or not do money or personnel wise. The entire "movement" is build on scapegoating. If Woody doesn't fire Idzik, they're going after Woody next is what they said, I believe. There is a lot of things wrong with the Jets right now. The notion that it's all Idzik's fault isn't really built on much. I really don't like the overall tone of what he post. He was accused, most likely falsely, of making the towels for profit and his response was to challenge people to a matching $25k bet in escrow to prove he wasn't. Why not just show the records? He claimed to have "through the roof" Internet traffic. I contradicted him and challenged him to prove his claims. He called my agreement pathetic and didn't respond to that or the TGG poll thread showing the majority of poster here think Idzik is back next year, yet he claims to represent 90% of Jets fans. Jets fans don't deserve the season we are having and Idzik doesn't deserve the level of blame they are trying to level at him.
I accept your stance not to debate on this forum anymore. I only hope you can back it up with proof, unlike all your other claims. Only time will tell.
Im sorry....I did not see this poll everyone is talking about but I have a big question. Was the poll asking Jet fans if Idzik should be back? Or was it asking if they THINK he will be back.

I will - however - open up my books in front of an independent accountant privately for the two of you to look through. I will even pay for the accountant. If you are so curious, take me up on the offer. But I am not going to cave in to your demand that I post our financials just because you want to see them. You aren't even a contributor to the cause. Who are you to even care?

Feel free to back up your representing 90% of the fans or Internet traffic through the roof though. You won't even need to hire an accountant.

So the fans that voted in that poll could be Jet fans that do not want him back..just think he will be back. Could be a lot fans that just do not like Idzik but think it doesnt make a difference...the Jets will bring him back. Hey...Im not defending anyone..or the guys doing the billboards or towels...i just do not think its a big deal and if people are that fed up..shit happens. Now the claim that they did it for profit is pretty heavy stuff...and from what I have seen from them, just dont see that but I havent really followed it...just personally? I love the idea that people are being held accountable with what has become a pretty huge mess.
