Lots of talk about the fins going after him. With the owner from NY and team consultant Mike Tannenbaum its lookin like Rex will at least get a look.
Rex could be successful at the Giants, or Atlanta or possibly the Fins. Anywhere with an established QB and a decent established offense. None of this means he is the right person for us going forward though. If we had those things we wouldn't be sitting on 3 wins now and he wouldn't be going anywhere.
Maybe as a defensive coordinator, most of the good DCs that get fired from their HC positions get jobs quickly.
Rex to the Giants would be like banging an acquaintance's ex-wife a month after the divorce. Awkward....
They are another NYJs (No QB) so he would not be successful there either. Atlanta since supposedly they have a franchise QB would be where he may succeed
the article says as DC, they absolutely would hire a fired coach as a DC and they'd be a SB contender next year w/ him running the D and Eli throwing to Beckham and Cruz. w/ that said I'd be shocked if he is ever just a DC again. I think it's HC or nothing.
I think he may end up in Miami and if they stop letting Tannehill throw away seasons and actually run the ball they'd be a AFC contender next year.
Rex would be wise to pursue either the SF or ATL head coaching jobs. The Giants are not a good for him, as they need some rebuilding themselves.
I definitely think that is the team he has the best potential to elevate, though SF is a lot better overall.
I could imagine that... Goes back to where his dad was at his best and could bring an attitude to a team that really needs it. He seems like a good fit for the city of Chicago too I'd much rather see him in the NFC than somewhere like Miami
The 49ers QB has regressed way back to a mediocre level. One thing Rex will not do is take a job without a good QB situation - I'd say Atlanta or Miami.
Miami's QB situation is uncertain at best. Flashes of potential, but nothing suggesting RT will be elite or even very good on a consistent basis.
Yep.. Can you imagine Rex running Chitown's d and the GnP with Matt Forte. Keeps Cutler in check by limiting this throws too. Rex would put Da Bears back in the conversation.
