There is a lot of playmakers available thru free agency this offseason.A lot of guys with plenty of good years left in the tank who's help we could really use. These are only the top guys and other notable free agents but the whole list is to big to post so I broke it down even though there's a lot of good depth guys out there as well they just aren't on this version of list I copyed ,we are gonna have a ton of cap space again so what do you think? As far as veteran QBs its either Sanchez or Hoyer as of right now,not many options at QB at all witch is scary Top 25 – 2015 NFL Free Agents Rank Player Pos. I'd much rather spend our money on a starting RG, a CB, potentially a FS, and maybe another guard or CB. If we restructure Harvin, getting a top WR free agent is probably a luxury at this point. Spend money on re-signing Wilkerson.
Colt McCoy would be a good hold the fort guy to challenge Geno next season. Really hope we spend $ & draft picks on improving the O-line, that's a priority even if Manning were our QB. Need to find 2 new CBs, no way I'm betting of Milliner the slack jawed yokel or McDoogie to amount to much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Geno should not be shown the door. He's not owed a lot of $ and he's still a young QB. We can't keep expecting overnight sensations man, just let it play out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
yea but why?Two years isn't overnight,Sanchez had 5 years, who are these overnight sensations you speak about ......we have been more then patient
Because at the $ you're paying him he's worth keeping. Sanchez was a #5 pick and cost a ton against the cap. Geno is not making huge $ and can therefore be a low risk/high reward guy. Worst that can happen is he becomes a viable backup Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rahim Moore and kj wright(assuming we switch too 4-3) or Houston(assuming we stay 3-4) and a good corner results in our D being filthy. Would like some Oline help, a top wr(if we say peace to harvin and don't draft cooper) and vereen cause he could be a nice piece in the passing game. Dez vs. DT what do u guys think? Curious
Me, too but Shaun Hill (who I think is a FA) not Davis. I still think Milliner is going to be very good but you can't depend on him. Some of the guys they've been playing like Walls are decent and we should keep most of them. Seems like no major FA corners but they'll have to do something.
I like Hoyer or Bradford, those should be our top two options as I don't think we are in the right market to allow a rookie QB to develop and invest multiple draft picks to move up. Keep Geno, cheap and can still develop into something. Signing a WR is a luxury at this point and I would not dump that much money into the WR position, however if Cooper is there in the draft I could see us taking him. Iupati should be our big signing on the offensive line and would really solidify things up front, we have tons of depth at Gaurd and plenty of guys who could compete for the other Gaurd spot. CB needs to be adressed either via trade or free agency. Where we are drafting I wouldn't look at a CB until round two as the value simply isn't there. Is Revis an option? No, I doubt it, but Maxwell from seatle should be. Drafting Randy Gregory would really get me excited about this front 7 but we would also need to move on from Harris unless he takes a huge hometown discount. Are there any good middle linebackers available in free agency?
Hoyer kinda stinks. I agree with the Iupati being our big signing though! i been posting that a lot lately.
The thought of stealing McCourty from New England should make fans salivate. He doesn't give up big plays, rules the center of the field and has the coverage skills to man up on outside receivers and tightends. He would change the entire defense alone and allow Pryor to develop and roam up in the box. It's more of a luxury at this point because he's going to demand top dollar and our main focus needs to be at the guard positions and finding a reliable corner to bring in with all youngsters so at least one spot is locked down as a week in week out starter. Another quarterback needs to be brought in regardless of what we do in the draft and Mariota seems like he's going to be gone. Pickup a veteran that can at least run an NFL offense, draft a mid round prospect and hope to god we get a developmental coach. I think you have to keep Geno as the backup going forward and three quarterbacks on the roster. We can't hit on a quarterback at all so it only makes sense to over man the position and hope one of them can play.
I'd love to sign a Qb- the best available game manager who fucks up the least. I like Matt Moore but he's played very little with the Fins. And Shaun Hill. And Hoyer. Not sure if Bruce Gradkowski is available but he's always played well in the past. But the best game manager imo is Matt Hasselbeck. You can win with him.
Free Agents are finishing touches...not building blocks. Think about the 'Offseason Winner' every season...they tend not to do so great
We don't have to be free agent heros to add some good players to our team. We can't go sign 4-5 of these guys to absurd contracts on the downside of their career like the Buccaneers, Raiders, and Redskins have tried to do, but we can sign a big time player at a position of need that can go a long way to fixing that particular unit as a whole. An impact guard and road grader like Iupati instantly improves the entire offensive line allowing us to slide Aboushi over to right guard. We have too much cap space to not sign a big name free agent and a couple mid level guys. You also have to look at positions that are important to winning and positions that are age friendly. Offensive lineman and safeties play deeper into their career at an effective rate than cornerbacks and running backs for example. There's a reason a lot of corners move to safety at the other side of 30 in their careers because it's just as much about smarts as their cover skills erode with less athleticism.
