Using stats to your advantage without context there Junc? Only when it's convenient for you, but everyone else is suddenly wrong? Typical Nacho defense, typical. These situations prove you are a fan of the man, rather than a fan of the game. As usual in your arguments pertaining to a "Junc" QB!!
So you agree he is Trent Dilfer? In the right place, at the right time, with the right team-mates any of us on this board can win a Superbowl then. That's the total definition of a draft bust since he was a top 5 draft pick, was paid all that money, and is mediocre at best. How can you even argue on his behalf? Again, you are more of a fan of the man"Mark Nacho Sanchez", than a fan of the game. Otherwise, you would admit, he is a bust. It is what it is.
I wouldn't say it's true either. Sanchez isn't exactly the first QB to struggle with Seattle's defense. He is what he is. Solid when the pieces are around him and bad when they're not. I don't think he has the ceiling he did when he first came into the league, but he's definitely a solid leader. The comment was uncalled for.
Not uncalled for at all. When your QB is mediocre at best, your team is mediocre as well. He is surrounded in Philly by exceptional offensive talent, coaching included. You are not a leader if you are relying on what is around you, I believe that is participation, not leading. Nacho doesn't appear to be capable of leading.
I don't think he lacks in the leadership department at all, especially now as compared to his early career. The guys in Philly respect him. And the comments are uncalled for. They're unprofessional and come from a player who's mediocre himself while surrounded by great talent.
If he was a leader he would be able check in and out of plays at will, which he doesn't. I know he is in an entirely different system, situation, but he isn't a rookie anymore. This is his sixth year in the NFL. There shouldn't be any excuses for him, but a few people on this board manufacture excuses for him, not saying you are one of them. He doesn't have the sack to take plays on himself, and when he does, it usually proves to be a mistake even now. He is still making bad decisions, isn't accurate in his throws, and the offense ( even in Philly ) is held back due to his capabilities. Sure he makes a play every now and then, but he is an average QB at best. Even when he has tons of talent and a QB friendly system, AVERAGE. He will never live up to his draft position and contracts he had while in NY.
I live in the Philly area and people certainly do not "respect" Sanchez. People were losing patience with Foles, but now people are such as tense watching Sanchez take snaps as we were. Sanchez is never going to be that guy where you feel reasonably secure with him at the wheel. Watching him is a nervewracking experience. He shows you just enough to give you hope, and then screws it up. Also it's worth noting that Philly's offense is probably the all-around best coached and executed - even if the personnel aren't the very best. Most QBs could probably play very well in Chip Kelly's system. I have a feel that Nick Foles is really not even close to as good as he was last year. And Sanchez is probably playing at his peak right now - which is marginally better than he ever played with the Jets.
It seems like you just don't like the guy. Idk what you've been watching. The offense has run much better with him than it did with Foles. It's a Top 5 O in the NFL. I don't think he's a great quarterback, but given the right situation he's solid. Given what he had in 2012, he's bad. Like half the starters in the NFL would be. Leadership isn't measured by how many audible you're capable of making. A good leader is respected by his teammates and coaches and if you've paid attention to the situation, he has their support in full. I don't what this whole making excuses thing is. He's not a Jet. Excuses for how he's played in Philly? He's been good, what's the need for excuses? The "excuses" are a defense against people who seem intent on bashing him, despite the fact that he's no longer on the team AND he's playing well.
It doesn't matter what the fans may think. His teammates and coaches respect him. And Chip Kelly would disagree with you. How can you indict someone for playing well? No one was talking about how great the system was making Nick Foles last year. Certainly no one was talking about how good the system was making him this year. But as soon as Mark steps in, "it's the system." Players aren't just interchangeable like that. Give merit where merit is due.
Everyone was talking about how great the system was making Foles last year. I heard it non-stop. Also, Sanchez is not playing well right now. He's doing OK, but I wouldn't call it playing well. He's had a couple good games, and a couple which are typical Sanchez. He's still a turnover machine, even when he's passing alright. He's had 7 picks and 9 fumbles in 5 1/2 games. Only 2 of those fumbles were lost, but still. Even in the best offensive unit in the league, Sanchez is only barely better than a break-even piece.
Not even close my man. It's not a matter of like or dislike, that's for a bunch of women to discuss. The point is, it's all about his play on the field, so I have to question, " have you been watching?" He isn't solid, again, AVERAGE, at his very best. What's so hard to see? Foles, last season, statistically looked like a top QB. Given the entire situation last year, Philly looked like a top 5 offense. Top 5 offenses don't go 2-11 on third down last week no matter who they are playing, if their QB is "solid" as you say. A solid QB that's at the "leadership position as you say, throw for more than 100 yards. If he was a leader of a top 5 offense, he would have more than 20 pass attempts as well. You realize he has 10 TD's passing and 7 Intc's in his short stint as starter? Nacho will never put up a statistical season like Foles did last year, who lead the offense. Nacho is in there, and the coaching staff can only hold their breath. So with all that in consideration, do you really think he has the full support, and is leading? Get real. If so then we have a QB controversy in Philly. It's all a matter when Foles is healthy. Philly was winning before Foles got injured. I'm sure if Nacho gave this team the best chance to win, he wouldn't have started the season on the bench, which he did. Maybe Foles isn't an above average QB, but he is better than a QB that is average in flashes, below average the majority of his snaps under center. Full support...... Hahaha If he had the full support of the staff, he wouldn't have been limited to 20 throws in a game they needed to win badly. If Philly has playoff hopes and wants a deep run in the tournament, Nacho sure didn't prove to anyone that he can "lead". He participates, and does the the best he can, which is average at his best. Far cry from solid, average at best, below average for the majority of the snaps he plays. What is it about the guy that makes all the Sanchize fans believe in this guy? Who wants a guy who needs everything perfectly in place around him just so consistent mediocrity can exist week in and week out? Who wants a guy who pretends to lead the team, when all he can do is follow the rest of the team? Why can supposed football fans not see that this man held our team back, and the best case scenario in Philly is that the team will get to the NFC championship and lose because it doesn't have the leadership to get over the hump, just like in 09 and 10 in NY? Fan boys are allowed to wish and want any way they chose. To call everyone else, dumb about football, or to talk about "superior football knowledge", when it's a silly argument, only reflects the opposite about those who believe in a guy who oozes mediocrity. Mediocrity in his finer moments. Do you Sanchise followers not remember the "Butt-fumble"? How about 4 seasons worth of turnovers, and all those games we could have won if we had a simple game manager rather than the crap we had behind center for 4 seasons? Get real fanboys, wake up to reality. He only looks good when all else is perfect. In Philly, if 10 TD's and 7 Intc's put him in the Hall-of- fame for all Sanchise lovers, so be it.
Was coming here to say the Sanchez haters are cumming in their pants after the INT... SO be prepared for them to jump in the thread.... Only to realize...I was already too late...wow..lol
I really don't understand why there is a need for constant discussion about Mark. He is a backup quarterback at best. He'll definitely give you a good game or two (vs Panthers, vs Cowboys Thanksgiving) but for the most he is what he is. You can like the guy and root for him to succeed. But you guys need to accept that he's nothing more than a backup.
Stop being fucking butthurt. All you Sanchez groupies have been endlessly singing praises for him. Face it: He fucking sucks. He's single-handily destroying the Eagles season. 10 TD, 9 INT.
