If Idzik is safe than Howdy Doody doesn't have wooden balls.

That would be disappointing, but I expect this to happen. Woody fires John Idzik after 2 years, it looks bad on him. We have to loose 3 more years before Woody makes a change. The next time we make the playoffs will be 2018, Im guessing. Woody's team hasn't have a bad stretch loosing in his time. This decision should help that come to fruition. Get ready for the Seattle defensive coordinator, our next head coach.

I see us making a huge push for Hardbaugh and landing him

Great post. If Woody thinks the Jets have a plan at this point he should stick with it. If he doubts the plan, well that's the time to make a move. But then you have to have a better plan in mind because as Dolan has reminded us repeatedly a tactical adjustment isn't a plan.

If this were to happen I'd have to go shopping for a new team...unacceptable!

No chance in hell. You are never going to go shopping for a new team unless the the team ditches you.

Maybe Idzik has worn out his welcome, and Woody certainly does care about PSLs and getting fans in seats, so he might be convinced to blow it all up. That being said, Idzik would not have left $30 million unspent this year if Woody was not in it for the long haul. The Jets will have over $40 million this off-season (more if we restructure or cut Harvin) and a top 6 draft pick in every round but one; I bet Woody lets Idzik carry out his plan at least for another year.

I guess we'll find out if I'm right on black monday, though.

If Woody wanted to spend the money it would have been spent. He's no cheapskate.

does that plan include drafting 1 starter for every 10 draft picks?

I wonder how much protesting or mutiny we'll have when we go into NEXT season with over $30 million in unspent cap money....

That's actually exactly my point. At the very least, when the season started Woody and Idzik were on the same page in regard to the Jets future. By not spending $30 million that we could have, they showed that we were playing for 2015 and not 2014. I'm assuming that's still the case but maybe the absolute failure of a season has changed Woody's mind.

I agree and Idzik has no excuse for the poor drafting. We need to bring in real talent evaluates and completely turnover our scouting dept.

I would like to think that nobody's job is safe. Rex has been done since about week 8, so I can see Woody and Idzik making plans for another head coach. Doesn't mean that Idzik's job is safe for next year.
