I think we might be to good to suck more then ten and tampa, we should still be able to land an awesome pick (prays for amari cooper).

I think we still need to draft a QB early however. the free agents are awful... the only one I would want is Sanchez and hes never coming back here. so that being said who would you consider to be worth a second round pick? the only QB im semi familiar with is Hundley which I think is a good prospect but Im curious as to what you guys think!

Note: I know this game on sunday will probably be the difference maker in the race for the top pick but I have a strong feeling we will beat ten... if we dont then BLAME IT ON JAMEIS JETS WIN A SUPERBOWL!

    We trade up.

    Plain and simple.

I'm against a trade up, because even moving up 1 or 2 spots would mean future firsts. Trading up for a QB has never worked.

To answer your question, it's tough to gauge which QBs will go in R2. Maybe Hundley and Petty. I'm not a fan of either but I would pick Petty if I had to.

We might have to wait till 2016 for a franchise QB if we miss on Mariota and Winston.

I'm not a fan of trading up - but if the new front office sees a guy who can be a top 10 at his position then I'm down.

If we miss out in round 1 than yes we take 1 in round 2. Always take the highest rated qb you can without reaching until the position is settled.

Seemed to work out just fine for the Giants.

I wouldn't mind if Mariota won us 2 Super Bowls.

The Giants technically didn't trade up for Eli. San Diego drafted him and traded him later on.

After MM and Jameis Id say Petty is my favorite QB coming out.

If we miss out on the top 2 I would draft cooper, try and trade for foles

Maybe Jameis falls to 5 or 6 and we don't need to trade up. Regardless, we need to come away with one of these two. I think Jameis will be a very good pro under a strong QB minded HC and OC. The kid's got ice in his veins and he's a winner. Just wish he wasn't such a dope off the field. Hopefully that's just young immaturity.

That was a trade up plain and simple. You know it and I know it. Besides, that's besides the point.

Just because something hasn't happened (even though it did with Eli), it doesn't mean it CAN'T happen. There is no blanket assurance and there is always a first (or second) time for everything.

You know a freshman had never won the Heisman? Until one did. And them another.

Btw, the Vikings traded up into the first for Teddy. That's going to work out for them.

As long as it's not too ridiculous, I would trade up for Mariota. If it's highway robbery, similar to the RG3 deal, I might be inclined to wait and see if Jameis slides down to us. We MUST get one of these guys, and while I prefer Mariota, the idea of Jameis on the Jets isn't as ridiculous as I used to think it was.

Fuck trading up take the best offensive lineman or take Cooper especially if we have a new regime in. Or trade down.

    Trading up does not work.

If we miss out on Mariota or Winston I think we need to trade for a QB (Cutler my preference). Anything as long as Geno isn't our #1 starting next year...

    .
If we have the 6th spot and Mariota, Cooper and Winston are gone I would see if we could get BOTH of the Browns 1st rounders in a trade and take Melvin Gordon and Andrus Peat.

2 big holes filled with absolute studs. Sign Cutler and let the chips fall where they may!

My gut feel is Mariota will be gone no later than pick 3. If we are 2-3 we have a shot. If we are not within the first 2-3 we will move in differed direction.

No, no, no to trading up. Too many needs, and I'm convinced Winston will be there at 4-5..the question is do we select him or do we go with Cooper. IMHO we will not take the down side risk on Winston.

I will be flamed for this, but I have a strong feeling the Jets will make a move for Sam Bradford, and put some new muscle on the OL via the early draft and free agency . They will then pick a Hundley or similar QB later in the draft.

I would have no issue with this, again I worry about Cutler but if the price is right - you can't say no. I do prefer Brandon Scherff and La'el Collins though over Peat right now. Both are far more versatile.

Instead of Gordon, I prob go with Jaelen Strong or one of the receivers like a Kevin White.

Melvin Gordon will be there for us (if we want him) in the 2nd round. No matter how good he is, I can't see a team taking a running back in the first.

u shouldnt get flamed for this - its a calculated, risky move that makes sense given the overall circumstances at this point. if there is a situation similar to alex smith this year its bradford but with the injury factor.
