They knew before they interview for the job. Woody said right after last game of season Rex was coming back. Why would they even take the interview knowing that?

I love how people spout this nonsense without anything to back it up. you've never been close to being a GM so you have no idea what someone in that position would or would not consider in taking such a job.

Because HE didn't do a good job -- assuming Woody didn't tell him to NOT spend $20 MM this year -- and because Idzik, not Rex, has gotten the most heat (IMO, justifiably).

Think about it....the coach is coming off an 8-8 season....playoff talk last Spring...and now they are 2-10 and might get the #1 overall draft pick. And yet, virtually all the venom and critical articles are pointed at the 2nd year GM, not the 6th year coach missing the playoffs for 4 years in a row. What does that tell you ?

That mid-year CC was universally panned. Idizik is taking a pounding I haven't seen since the JOE MUST GO talk of the late-1980's.....even Kotite wasn't this bad. I think Woody thinks Idzik has turned into Mangini and he needs a GM who can go on WFAN and ESPN and sell PSLs.

Neither have you and that's why it's called an opinion, and a logical one at that.

It depends on the circumstance it really isn't as black and white and you're making it out to be.

A logical argument can be applied broadly by its construction, it's not dependent in the specifics of individual scenarios.

Here is your logic: no worthy GM would ever take a job that they were forced to keep the existing head coach, therefore no worthy GM would take a job if they were forced to work with Super Bowl winning coach Bill Belichik.

You have to support that statement above because it is your logic. You can have that opinion, it just reveals you to be a fool to support that argument.

Its ridiculous, these guys have sources everywhere because people like to talk.Only a real fanboy is gonna think there full of shit all the time.Jets fans don't realize how easy it is to get info as a reporter in the NY sports media circuit, there's always someone around the league or in the orginization willing to talk

If you're going to interpret my logic, at least include the entirety of my original argument. You failed to leave out the part where I said "unless that HC is a star". BB falls into the star category, same as Harbaugh.

So you think projecting your opinion of a coach onto a GM who you have no idea how he feels about that coach is a logical opinion?

Logic require broad arguments. If you have to add qualifications and narrow your argument it becomes less logical. Your star coach qualification makes your position illogical because it is a narrow argument.

It's not only logical but it's common knowledge who the top HC's in the league are. That said GM candidate would be well aware of that when considering the job.

you don't remember who because that never occurred.

everyone interviewed. the only one who took a different GM job after interviewing was Caldwell with Jax, and no one really knows his reasons for going to Jax.

No it's not because you are completely making up that a top candidate couldn't or wouldn't feel Rex was worth keeping at that time because you didn't feel that way. Take responsibility for your thoughts and make the reasonable argument that YOU, if you were a top GM candidate, wouldn't have taken the job if YOU were forced to keep an existing head coach.

But there is nothing logical about projecting your opinion onto other people.

If Woody fires Idzik it will only be to put Rex in charge of the whole shootin match.

Oh, so I see. Just because you say it isn't true and act like a horse's ass, that means it isn't true. I see. Carry on being a jerk.

Stop starting up shit. Its not a matter of disagreeing with them or not, its just easy to say I know someone in the league as a means to defend a stance.

No it's because you make absolutely zero sense. I schooled you as always and you come back with some lameass personal responsibility bs? It's very logical and it's called an opinion as I told you yesterday. I feel bad for your wife (if you have one). Talk about going in circles dude. You're a bore and offer nothing of substance when it comes to talking football.
