I would actually love to have Brian Kelly. I don't think he's going to leave ND, but you never know. Great coach.

Couldn't agree more. If they want compensation give them Coples, the ultimate underachiever under Rex, and also McDougle, the biggest reach ever on draft day.

Well, if it's anything more than a wild rumor, hope they don't do anything stupid like offer high picks for Harbaugh. Coaches are important in the NFL, but ultimately talent is the most important thing (see Belichick before Brady) and Harbaugh is far from a sure thing, given his NFL track record.

Pretty much yep, if it's fully in Harbaughs control and he is made available to sign whereever he wants it will be Oakland.

Teams would take Coples. He's been played out of position by Rex (something Rex isn't good at doing-playing a guy out of position) but at times looks like he could be a good player. I wouldn't give compensation up for a coach they will probably fire anyways.

The one problem I have with this is the timing. What we don't want to do is create another scenario where a HC is forced on a incoming GM. Lets try to get it right this time. If our new GM wants Harbaugh, fine. If Harbaugh IS our new GM, fine.

If we knew the relationship between Harbaugh and Gamble this would be a non-issue. Gamble was out in the bay area during the first two years of Harbaugh and was there when he was hired.

My source tells me this too. Unlike others, I will reveal my source, the logic of football. The Jets will have a HC vacancy and Harbaugh will be looking for another team. So the Jets will inquire.

I think the Jets are just doing their due diligence on Harbaugh right now. A very smart move regardless of whether they want him or not. I hope Woody find the right candidate for us and not just take a big name. For once, I want a very forward thinking coach and GM, who both have a clear vision of how they are going to get this team competitive again.

Whereas most of the other major colleges with head coaching vacancies very quickly named their new head coaches so far Michigan hasn't. Which is a possible indicator that they are considering Harbaugh.

We're gonna miss out on some great candidates chasing Harbaugh who's proven nothing from a personnel standpoint

Bring in a GM who can build a team
A coach who can develop players, chemistry and consistency(preferably offensive minded)
Coordinators who can scheme around our strengths and opponents weaknesses
A QB who can protect the ball and convert on 3rd down

Schefty believes he'll be staying near the Bay area, as his wife enjoys it there, and he probably won't want to uproot them.

Anything can happen, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to arrive here.
