Took an extended look at Marcus Williams' game versus the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He wasn't bad. Had some bright spots, had some low spots. Outlined it all here with analysis, screen grabs and more

He is probably the 1 guy we actually got to jump out of nowhere this year. I'm looking forward to seeing how high up he can get on the opening day roster next year.

Williams and Walls as a 4 and a 5 would be good for 2015. Now just need to figure out 1 through 3. Milliner and McDougle likely in the equation so sign maybe 1 or 2 guys.

This is actual analysis and it's a pretty good read, thank you for the effort you put into it. I know this is a throw away season for most Jets fans, but a lot of us still enjoy the study of football outside of just knee-jerk reactionary dialogue.

It's the type of stuff a lot of us have been longing for for many years when it comes to beat writers.

I'll make some time tomorrow with coaches film to follow along with your analyses.

highlighting a player in film review is a great idea, and Marcus Williams the perfect subject.

you've already surpassed all Jets beat writers just on content and objectivity alone, so keep it up. you can stand out by continuing to talk actual football.
would have liked a little more detail in the article, but overall its good (and i agree with your observations about Williams).

Connor, when you watch the Jets secondary with Walls and how it's played w/o Walls it's pretty incredible to see how much better they play w/o Walls. Williams has played very well and so has Phillip Adams quite frankly

Off to a very nice start I'd say.

Two of the top free agent corners in 2015, Tramon Williams and Chris Harris, were UDFAs, so you never know.

I'd sign two guys this offseason. One middle contract and one lesser contract.

I think Milliner has some real talent, but at this point I dont think I'd rely on him. Same with McDougle. If they play and they're healthy, great. If they arent healthy, no worry because you were prepared for it. That was the issue this year. Milliner, McDougle and Patterson all had issues, and the Jets didnt have the personnel to overcome it.

Next year their group of CB's should be something along the lines of:

    FA1
    Milliner
    FA2
    McDougle
    Williams
    Walls

I'd be ok with that group.

Look, I know you're new and all, but this is a New York Jets forum. All we want to talk about is who should be fired immediately, who should be fired at the end of the year, and who we should keep around to fire next year. We don't need you bringing up all this fooseball nonsense!

Also, good choice of topics. At this point in this season, seems like a good idea to closely watch the play of younger guys such as Jarrett, Phillip Adams, and Oday Aboushi and those whose longer-term future with the team are in question such as David Harris and the OTs.

Wonder why the Jets are insistent on playing Williams off receivers if he's at his best jamming them at the line.

He hasn't played bad overall. He's done a pretty good job. And no one is worse than Wilson btw

I'm really looking forward to seeing how he does with his increased playing time from here on out.
