I just lost my AmStaff to a brain tumor; he was the nicest, friendliest dog you would ever meet, and he'd let kittens, small children, hell even a flop eared rabbit harrass him for hours and never even give them a sideways look. The breed has always gotten a bad rap because many pet owners shouldn't be pet owners, and probably shouldn't have been allowed to exit the womb alive to begin with.
Wheaten Terrier. Max out at 35-40 lbs. about knee high. Great with kids. Rarely bark. Don't shed. Absolute chick magnets. I know a breeder in RI if you're interested. Google wheaten way, Cumberland, ri.
That sucks dude. I have an AmStaff named Bobby and he is the best dog in the world. Amstaffs and pits always rank very high as far as being good with children. Bobby is a rescue that we got 3 years ago and a couple months ago we got a blue nose Pit, also rescue.....Im boased but I have no idea why anyone would want a dog other than a bully breed. Theyre so awesome looking and loyal.. Pit Bulls et al are awesome family pets. If youre gonna get a terrier it has to be an American Pit bull terrier
Here is my girl, picked her up from the Humane Society Feb. 2002 when my youngest daughter was 6 years old. Shelters and rescues are the way to go.
