Firing Idzik will deter any GM from wanting the Jets job. Just think about it. Are you going to go to a team where the owner will fire you after just 2 years, where the last guy inherited a coach and awful cap situation and wasn't even given time to work his plan? Will a GM want to work for a team where if the fans want you fired, the owner will obey them?

The right move is to fire Rex/Marty/every coach, let Idzik bring in his own coaching staff and give them two years. If they are on the upswing after 2 years they stay, if they are on the downswing you blow it all up and start over.

I agree the situation is a mess, but it does seem know to be the consensus around nfl people that John idzik hasn't done a bad job he's done a horrendous job.. So I don't think anyone would think woody is being unfair by letting him go.. The cap hell idzik fixed wasn't rocket science.. He cut the same 4 players every gm would have, like that... The jets were free..

I think the culture do bad right now. Everyone has to go

Um...ok..what exactly is your point? Our roster is set better for the future now? It was worse then...? Seriously..I have no idea where you are going with this.

I didn't know 24mil under the cap was awful. Plus what has he done to improve this team? Plus there been to much written how slow he is and the way try to sign people. You got agents calling him a lair.

He didn't have enough time to do a horrendous job. Ivory and Decker were good signings, he drafted a RotY, Amaro seems like he's going to be good. He screwed up the CB situation, but two guys were lost for the season and the other went awol. Kind of hard to predict that. And Geno didn't work out but drafting QB's in a crapshoot anyway, and he was taken in the 2nd round, it's not like they mortgaged the future on him.

Let's have him bring in his own coaches. He needs a chance and a fair shot. A lot of the noise coming out of the Jets FO is certainly from guys from the Tanny era who will be looking for new jobs in a few weeks.

Not to mention Babin was a really good signing.

Easy...because it's the truth. You obviously either weren't around for many of those teams or have forgotten how dreadful they were.

The WR's, Dline, and RB's are better now than when he first got here. QB is just as bad, pass rush/LB's are the same and DB's are worse.

I don't want to start a full on debate. He's had allot more misses than hits. You really trust this guy to pick a coach? No quality coach will want to take him on, similar to the way he probably didn't want rex. The front office rumors I don't listen to. Being fair he really has done a bad job.. Counting on mcdougke is a long shot, prior to injury milliner wasn't good. Plus he's an injury prone guy. I know u conceded he did a bad job at corner, so my point is that's it's a rex staple position and he fucked him.. You think other coaches will want there philosophy tested by idzik?

I disagree. Firing Idzik may deter some, but for someone who wants to become a GM, make a lot of money and have a chance to make a name for himself, he would take the job. Working for an owner who tries to tell you what HC to hire and who won't let you do your job is much more likely to deter potential candidates.

With a lot of cap space, some good young talent and high draft position any GM candidate who is worth a darn could see this as a golden opportunity. Following up that bean counter Tanny and the inept Idzik, he could easily look like a genius with just a solid draft.

Lol. I realize allot of people on here have multiple screen names, the ones I see now with a diff attitude I don't call them out..n

Shame of this is. All of us wanted to be wrong. We said that repeatedly. No one listened I was told to go fuck myself and I'll see how great Idzik will be 10x a day. Lol

I have learned on here you can't disagree with a lot of people or they want to start calling you names. Jstokes is the worst.

He hasn't had any real big, awful misses. Every GM's track record has misses, even multiple SB winners. But Idzik was hired as the GM and deserves the opportunity to hire his own coach, imo.

But we can agree to disagree.
