Harbaugh made the frigging championship game THREE straight years and a Super Bowl on top of it, now that they're having an off year (when everyone and their grandmother knew Harbaugh was a lame duck going into the season) he's somehow a baboon?

According to the Niner radio guys on KNBR Balke sucks too and the roster is filled with holes. And they have stats to prove it. Again they don't know what real losing is all about. But some of these oganizations freak out when the winning stops. They're even talking about getting rid of Kap.

It's not as talented as Arizona or Seattle. It's an aging roster with big name players past their prime.

No one in their right mind should have thought this was a super bowl caliber roster because it never was this year.

I don't know much about Al Davis' kid. But my guess is he knows more about football than Woody.

People who thought the 49ers were a playoff team, misjudged their overall talent. They were not as good as they were, it happens, they peaked, their run was over. The fact that they even made the NFC Championship last year was pretty impressive considering they had lost the Super Bowl the year before.

You know that makes no sense? How was it a surprise they made NFC championship? They didn't lose anybody that was important.

He's a baboon because he acts like one on the sidelines

    Dream on.

    Woody wants losers.

He also has a need for sycophantic yes men like Rex and Idzik and terry crapway.

Obviously Harbaugh felt he made the right decision in replacing Alex Smith with Kaepernick, but it now looks like he mishandled that one. I don't follow the Niners anywhere near close enough to pinpoint the problems he's been having, whether self induced or anything like that. More likely opponent DC's now know how to defend him better than they did his first season. Which imo is the kind of thing one might hope one's HC could foresee. Whether that's fair or not, as it stands now Harbaugh does not look so bright for trading out A Smith for Kaepernick.

I don't like the way Harbaugh acts on the sidelines. I was reminded yesterday watching Chip Kelly spend most of the game haranguing the officials, that that sort of approach is imo very counterproductive. It goes back to when Jimmie Johnson was still HC for the fish, he used to spend far too much time and focus berating officials. It's not so much that approach doesn't work as that it gives your players the subtle notion that THEY should also be worried about the officials, and that the CS is more focused on the officials than on coaching the team.

For my criticisms of Ryan, he probably does pretty well in this area. To be clear I am not saying don't ever complain. But Kelly imo was over the top, and while he probably was going to lose hte game anyway, let's just say it was not shocking that they did. I think Harbaugh has this sort of problem, too.

This is pretty much dead on. You can't try to make the officials the story or you'll become the story instead, and not in a good way. Blowing off steam very occasionally is a natural thing and you can't avoid that but more than once in a long while is just a losing play. Officials are the only animals on earth that have longer memories than elephants and whether you think they're jobbing you today or not you really don't want to be the guy they have a subconscious dislike of down the road in the playoffs some day.

That's the point, do you realize the diffuculty to win with the same roster for 3 straight years? Let alone 4.....

Geno007. The only team to make the championship game after losing the super bowl recently was Belichicks patriots. So you don't want a guy that has done something that only Belichick has done recently? Smh

Most teams that lose super bowls have great difficulty rebounding....outside of belichick.

Well that's a great point, too, but I was thinking more of the effect that sort of approach has on the players.

And losing Super Bowl decimates franchises, how many of the recent Super Bowl losers have rebounded and won the Super Bowl since losing?

    49ers - No
    Patriots - No
    Steelers - No
    Colts - No
    Cardinals - No
    Bears - No
    Seahawks - Yes
    Eagles - No
    Panthers - NOo
    Raiders - No
    Rams - No

So only 1 team out of the last 11 super Bowl losers has actually managed to win one, and it took them seven friggin years. So for all of you who were expecting San Fran to just get back up and win it all the next year, get real. Like those who picked Denver to win it this year, you are insane!!!!!

Steelers havent won a playoff game since, the Colts, Cardinals, and Bears have only won one playoff game. The Patriots didnt win a playoff game for three years after losing Super Bowl 42, the Raiders and Rams? Have they even won one since losing?

So for Harbaugh to take his team back to the championship game the year after was pretty telling on how good of a coach he is, because only Belichicks been able to do that in the recent NFL of todays age.

You're right that you really don't want your players thinking about the officials too much. They've got enough on their plate trying to figure out what the opposing players are doing and trying to correct things on the field.

Going to war on the football field is an approach that sometimes works and sometimes backfires, assuming you're warring on the opposing team. It never works when you're warring on the officials. That's a no-win game and it costs you on Sunday and then the league makes you look bad and bites your wallet later in the week.

This post had a point until you started over-exaggerating like mofo. They have had huge injuries to the defense, none of their WR's are number ones, Vernon Davis has been an injury riddled non factor all year, and Kaepernick is barely a step above Geno Smith level when it comes reading defenses.

If you go get Jim Harbaugh you do it because you think he will develop the first great Jets QB in quite awhile. That's the hook. The Jets will improve by a couple of games next year no matter what because they're blowing chunks this year and it'll be hard not to improve.

Harbaugh is a tough guy who will also get the rubberband effect when the player's coach leaves but it's really hard to sustain that over time. The Jets might really improve next year and then relapse in 2016. Then again there's no Chad coming back from injury to put the wind in the next coaches sails so they might not get the big bounce either.

What the Jets need right now is a guy who really knows QB talent and how to develop a good one. They're not going to go far until they get the QB.

Reading this convinced me on why he would be so desired, But I think QB's would have issues with him especially with trust. Due to what he did with Alex Smith

Does Smith have a long term contract with $45 million guaranteed without Harbaugh? I don't think so.
