Three things need to happen for the Jets to get the #1 pick at this point: 1. Jets lose out. 2. Jaguars beat Titans. 3. Buccaneers win one.
Does it not matter that we beat the Raiders in the first game? Does strength of schedule rule over head-to-head?
Awesome. I remember now; that's why we drafted so late last year even though we were probably the worst 8-8 team and had lost to a few teams who drafted above us.
Current draft order and strength of schedule: 1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 2-11 (.488 SOS) 2. Tennessee Titans: 2-11 (.490 SOS) 3. Jacksonville Jaguars: 2-11 (.522 SOS) 4. New York Jets: 2-11 (.549 SOS) 5. Oakland Raiders: 2-11 (.590 SOS) 6. Washington Redskins: 3-10 (.500 SOS) 7. New York Giants: 4-9 (.522 SOS)
Strength of schedule is a shitty way to do the tiebreaker. It should be the same tiebreaker as the playoffs. Jets drafted lower than teams even though they were last in playoff tie breaker
If its just us and the Raiders tied however, with no other teams involved, would head to head apply then?
Nope! Head to head doesn't matter at all in terms of draft order. Strength of Schedule is the tiebreaker. Maybe if strength of schedule was equal it would matter, but that won't happen. We'll draft ahead of the Raiders if we win the same number of games.
I'm going to have a good laugh when the Jets win Sunday. IMO, I know they play head to head soon, but either the Titans of Jax will have the 1st pick. I don't root to lose, cause neither Mariota or Crab legs are a sure thing. If we do lose, Mariota should be the pick, cause we aren't beating NE & Miami.
I think Titans will play to lose and Jets will play to win. I am starting Jets defense in fantasy. I hope this leads to Winston in the end.
I wonder if I should pick up Jets defense in fantasy as well. First week of championship games. However, doesn't Jake Locker own the Jets in his career? Lol.
He does. But Titans openly allowed Giants to rape them in the game. Don't think they are that bad. I am confident in Jets winning big time. But don't take my advice. This is championship game in fantasy so I don't want you to blame me.
I don't think any team tries to lose for a better pick. They don't think like fans. Players aren't looking at a 20 year old to be their savior. On top of that, players and coaches are playing and coaching for their jobs. When your team is picking at the top, you don't have the luxury of tanking, no matter what the fans may prefer.
Dream top 3 picks: 1st Marcus Mariota 2nd TJ Yeldon 3rd Jim Harbough Mariota is legit but needs to play in an offense that suits his game. Jim Harbough's offense is perfect for him! TJ Yeldon is going to be a special RB in the NFL, most that aren't Bama fans don't know he is a local kid that plays every week on the big stage under a microscope from his family and friends week in and week out. With Harbough's complex running game this kid could be a star. He reminds me of Leveon Bell/Arian Foster type back. Mariota would also benefit immensely from a solid running game. It all starts with Harbough and giving him the keys! Make it happen Woody!
