it should not have been the only move... he should have drafted another receiver high or signed another receiver. Instead the moron weights for harvin when the season is lost. He drafted a te in the second round fine but he did not bring enough help for his young qb (it does not help the qb sucks balls also)

Probably not happening. 3rd year of his rookie deal. The cap hit plus signing a replacement will be more than keeping him.he will be here through camp atleast

So if JI is pissing off inept personnel from top to bottom.... This would mean he forces them into what they don't like. Isn't this a good thing, because what they do on their own sucks?

well Manny, Moe and Jack you know-the pep boys they at least know how to manage a business and make choices based on informed sources
seriously though you need to look at green bay if nto green bay a team like them to grab the next gm. It also depends if you think we are in play Harbaugh because if we are then he needs to be involved in that choice

I dont know FJF...truly dont know. Its not my job to be making those calls. Its a good owner with hopefully a real plan for the first time in his life. It took Leon Hess decades to understand he needed a plan.

And while Madden had something to do with their success...Madden wasnt pulling all of these young kids out of the draft. It was the G.M. Like Billy Beane in Oakland..getting great young talent. Again..I dont have the answers.

Our job is to be a fan...to support our team...and hope that our owner has a plan finally. Because until he has a real plan, you end up hiring head coaches who promise to see the president within 3 years...and outside firms being brought in because our owner has ZERO relationships in the game to put feelers out and find a GM worth paying ...no..worth overpaying.

You know Im not directing this at you...you are my bud...but this constant "what do you want him to do" stuff? I dont know. Its not my job.

We go to games...we root for the team...we pay PSL's..and he charges them no matter what the product is...so Woody? FIGURE IT OUT...because this franchise has just hit a low many of us old timers recognize clearly...and it takes years to get out of it unless he does the right thing this off season.

    1. NOT
    2. MY
    3. JOB

There..3 names. Any one of those could have opened up ESPN fantasy draft and did a much better job than Idzik.

When you go somewhere that has a bad culture like the Jets and try to make changes its not hard to ruffle feathers. I think it all starts with Rex and this is just a part of his spin to save his job and get Idzik fired. He has friends including some of the players but he has to be the first to go. Maybe Idzik is another Mangini, who knows but is this team meltdown really his fault.

And christ...dont even get me going with the Percy Harvin move...talk about your ex team trying to save your ass. IDZIK WOULD NOT SPEND THE MONEY IN THE OFF SEASON FOR A CB...but felt it ok at 2 and 7 to try to improve the receivers. I MEAN...HOW THE HELL DID HE GET AWAY WITH THAT UP HERE? How did he survive such a move? I was in Florida all month....did they kill him for it? I mean...are you kidding me with that move?????

    + 1

We're fans, not executive search firms or NFL insiders.

Woody has the ear of hundreds of experienced NFL front office types.

    Find a fucking football guy.

bingo. If posters really want to know who I would hire..any other answer would be a lie. A huge lie...I would hire me. Thats right...me. Rarely would I be in the office...banging cheerleaders 2 at a time on the 50 yard line..during away games of course. Me...i would have a little picture of me on each ticket..with my weather website on the bottom right. I would draft players after the second round using the ene mini miny moe theory. In the 7th round I would raffle the pick off....and donate all the money to my favorite charity (more cheerleaders on the 50).

Still....with all of that...I would have 2 above average...probably slightly overpaid....CB's on the roster come Labor Day next year...PROMISE.

I know what players I want to draft.

I couldn't tell you who our GM should be.

I'm a football fan, not a FO fan.

No it shouldn't have, but that's not what we're talking about, just how the media flipped depending on what the Jets did.

but they always do it is up to the fans to be informed. most fans I knew in the atlata area were very unhappy with the off season, happy with the draft the first 2 picks questions with the third pick and were blah about the rest of nthe draft. The real disappointment was what he did in the fa ussually when you have poor drafts and noone jumps out you spend at least for the yr to improve the team to give them a fighting chance but the gm did not do that. And when patterson went awol, injuries and that effected the entire defense then the receivers sucked people starting seeing how bad of a job the gm did. Now everyone is on the gm and staff and team because the suck and they rightfully deserve all the grief they get.
The media has always been flip floppy but the fans have gotten screwed by a fake hustle. The NY times article from last week said it best about spending and the offseason.
I have been saying this for awhile the Gm should be fire because either he is incompetent or he sabotaged the season to bring in his own coach either way he cost the fans and I think he did not expect the backlash from everyone.

The coach should go because he just run his course here and unfortunately unless there is a strong gm I dont think he will win the sb here because his strengths are not what this team needs now.

The press has always been brutal but now they are out of targets first mark, then geno then rex and now the gm next thew owner will be called out.

    I mean, you're not, right?

FO Staff might be one thing, but in most situations, the CS serves at the GM's pleasure. If they don't do their jobs well, then they won't have jobs. IMO I don't give a rat's ass about this CS. I don't think a single one of them is worth keeping. Perhaps Dunbar might be. His efforts might have been undone by Rex's stupidity and lack of accountability and flexibility. Otherwise, fire the rest of them or line them up and fire at them.

Maybe the FO staff mentioned is the Scouting Dept. staff and maybe he's unhappy with the job they did preparing for the 2014 draft. Maybe the FO Staff takes their cue from Rex and there was no accountability or discipline until Idzik came along.

If he were the right man for the job, I wouldn't care if he fired the whole FO and the CS. It just so happens that I don't think he is, but the article you quote doesn't mean spit to me.

No way, Jose. Tanny, Bradway and practically every other GM in Jets' history have him beat for that title.
