http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...rk-jets-gm-john-idzik-alienates-staff-coaches Per Adam Schefter: "While speculation persists about Rex Ryan's future with the New York Jets, the man on the warmest seat in the organization just might be general manager John Idzik. Multiple sources within the organization tell ESPN that Idzik has alienated not just Jets fans, but those in the organization around him in the front office and on the coaching staff. Those sources in the organization said Idzik has not played the game of politics well, internally or externally, and it has cost him support in various areas. John Idzik has not only alienated Jets fans, but members of the Jets' front office and coaching staff as well, according to sources. Jets management is aware of the unhappiness being expressed about Idzik and that is expected to be a consideration when Jets owner Woody Johnson decides just how major the changes he makes to the organization will be. The people behind the website FireJohnIdzik.com, who raised money from disgruntled New York Jets fans to put a billboard near MetLife Stadium, announced Friday that it will distribute "protest towels" to fans at the Jets' final home, Dec. 21 against the New England Patriots." This guy needs to go ASAP!
He doesn't have the warm and fuzzies about a bunch of terrible coaches and shitty FO personnel? Why should he, they all suck balls? What's not to like about that? Jet fans are such fucking morons sometimes.
Yeah, alienating your entire staff and coaches is a great idea for man in charge of running the organization under Woody.
I can understand the coaching staff, Idzik didn't bring most of them in right? They're Rex's guys. The rest of the FO, again didn't Idzik bring in some of his guys and others are carry overs? The fans part is dumb, the whole team owner to most players are probably alienated from fans since we are 2-10. If everyone that dislikes Idzik is on the firing block anyways, not sure it's a big deal. If it's people Woody wants to keep, well see you later Idzik.
....and the circus just continues. Many of the radio talk shows (not WFAN) have recently discussed the Jets organization as one in deep turmoil and that no real top candidates could possibly be interested in the GM slot or the HC position. On Sirius NFL radio this morning, one host suggested that the Jets are in trouble for a few years to come. While I know the media loves to sensationalize and go for the ratings, you still have to give that some serious thought. It is so unfortunate that this franchise has turned into a shit show the last 4 years.
Well, you fucking nitwits keep saying to blow everything up anyway, what difference does it make that none of the presumed casualties like the guy?
I don't follow this logic. Hypothetically, let's say there is huge turmoil between GM And HC and that stuff. Woody fires all of them, the turmoil is gone. Nobody would wan to come here then?
that's because there is no logic to follow - the media is desperate for stories and runs with any sort of nonsense especially if its negative.
I didn't say nobody would come (in fact I didn't say anything, the shows did). I clearly stated TOP CANDIDATES.
Woody is the root of the problem. It all starts at the top. Until Woodrow proves that he can make the right hire to run this franchise, a lot of prospective candidates will think twice about coming here. The pressure is squarely on him and will dial up on black Monday.
yeah I don't mean your logic, the radio show logic. Even TOP Candidates would come here if people were fired. That's just a line radio shows have used over and over again. It's like the Jets wouldn't be able to sign any receivers with Geno at QB, they signed Decker who was considered the #1 WR all offseason until the Jets signed him, then everyone said "he's not that good".
I do agree with you about radio/ TV and hope this truly is the case. But, allow me to question Decker as a #1 - perhaps for Jets it could be perceived he was a #1 WR coming in, but in Denver, he was more a #3 or 4, no?
Nahh. While the Jets haven't dominated under Woody, they've been an average franchise without hitting the highs of highs (SB win) or the lows of lows (consistent top 5 picks). They've been a middling franchise. I do believe Woody was behind a few of our moves, but I do think he generally stays out of the football part of the job.
Let me clarify, Decker as the #1 WR on the FA market. It was a pretty clear consensus that the Jets lacked receivers and Decker was #1. When Decker joined the Jets, all of sudden it wasn't a good move even though it's relatively inexpensive and he immediately was the best WR on the Jets. That's what I mean. Nobody ever said Decker was going to go Calvin or Gordon on the league. He was an upgrade to a weak Jets position and was considered by outsiders as the top WR in the FA class. Yet the move got knocked or people retroactively said Hakeem Nicks or someone was really the #1 WR.
