It's almost as if you never saw Namath play.

Honestly I can't fairly judge our offensive players as long as they have to be coached by Rex.

Well Colon usually stinks and always lets crap rush past him.

Please. If you can't see by this point that Rex is more the problem than he is the solution, and is just as much the problem as poor QB play, then there's no helping you. The defenses of Rex are ridiculous and mindless. They show how little you fans know who are defending him.

I didn't think picking up Vick in the off-season made a lot of sense. I think that last night was all the proof that was needed for my point.

Yes. It's your fault for buying tickets and looking like a total doofus on TV. ...j/k about the second part.

I agree. We wouldn't be in the position we are now without Rex, on the verge of drafting a franchise QB. I really wish he would've given it his all and really went for the suck but alas, we'll just have to live with 2 wins and hope the Jags and Titans start winning.

I think I said it before. He has to be done. Theres no way you can bring him back have another bad season, which we are likely to have next year, and keep him beyond that. Then youre bringing in another new head coach and gm all over again. Just blow it up and start over.

Dyer: Jets upset Colon kills every drive; unnamed source: "He should probably shut his mouth about quarterbacks and start worrying about keeping his fat ass still until the ball is snapped every time we get in the fucking red zone"

    (this didn't actually happen)

This also seems like an unreasonably long quote for an unnamed source on a phone call.

When you go into an offseason with a mountain of money to spend and 12 draft picks as additional currency, how on earth do you end up with THIS team?? It was lined up to be one of the best off seasons in team history, and this imbecile turned it into a complete tragedy. Not to mention wasting two of our top three picks in 2013. He's dug us the deepest hole in the league the last two years and that's UNFORGIVABLE. Not only should he be fired, he should be forced to work in the mail room for free for the next 10 years to pay back some of the money he stole.

And that harkens back to the thread about Idzik doing this to get rid of Ryan. Why would anyone deliberately shoot himself in the foot this badly?

They wouldn't, which is why the alternative is complete and utter incompetence. In a draft as loaded with talent as it was, especially at the WR spot. If he thought Geno was the future you attempt to move up to get Beckham, Evans in the first. Nobody wanted to move down in this deep draft, so oblige them and go up. Taking McDougal when you could have probably burned a 4th on him(it would have been light years better than Saunders at this point) Instead of taking Moncrief or one of those Guards there was a run on. I can't say anything about Evans because he's hurt, guy could turn out to be ok.

On the FA front, I'm not going to say he should have thrown money at everybody in desperation. I'm of the thinking he was right to let D Cro walk on over to the Giants, and A Cro was washed up. However, some of the guys he either ignored or didn't bother to contact to plug holes is unsettling. I really wanted us to take a look at Tate or Rice they had decent size and ability wise were better than the dreck we had. We could have at least talked to one of the Guards that were out there.

Bah, I've rambled here. In short, the combination of the 2013/14 drafts and the 14 free agency period are completely undefendable. I'm no GM but there were guys available that on paper, and to a draft layman, that made a hell of a lot more sense then what we went with. Frankly, to me anyway, it smacked of him trying to be the smartest guy in the room.

I shouldn't have ended my last sentence with a question mark. I agree with your post completely and thought it went without saying. I was referencing the other thread because I thought that some people believed the article where Ryan alleged Idzik's bizarre motive.

Idzik gave Rex shit and expected him to turn it into a cake. Idzik has no business being a GM in this league. He doesn't have a clue how to draft, sign FA. He needs to go

There is a separate thread for how well Mark Sanchez is playing in Philly...
