Seriously! I don't have any delusion about Simms' potential. I've been against the idea of starting him all season. I don't think he's any better than Geno and I don't expect much of anything out of him. However, if they're that afraid to throw the ball with Geno, then there's no point in playing him. Thoughts?
Whatever. I've completely lost interest in this dumpster fire of a season. The fact that Rex is still steering the ship off the edge of the earth is astounding. He can't do worse than Geno.
No doubt. What's the point of playing Geno if he only throws thirteen passes all game? What are we learning? Nothing to lose by playing Simms (and by playing I mean letting him throw more than 13 times). But I don't think it's on the team's (i.e. Rex, Idzik, and the rest of the CS) agenda to evaluate another option at QB. Sad. It really feels like a pathetic, meaningless situation for this team. I am very sure they won't turn to Simms
We've seen Geno throw already. Or have you repressed the first half of the season. I don't blame you.
Sadly, I think that's debatable. I wouldn't underestimate how bad Geno is or Vick's potential to implode. But it's true: even if Simms did play and was a total flop, they end up going 2-14 with a top 2 or 3 pick and all options at QB have been exhausted
I don't think so, Geno played well enough the last 4 games last year and we cost ourselves a good draft pick and also brought back Rex Ryan. Aside from Buffalo Vick has proved he would still win us at least one game (really weak sched left). Simms would ensure us that we go 2-14 although it won't matter who's playing QB with the offense we ran last night.
That's kind of what I've been saying all along...no one is calling Matt Simms a savior but geeezzz...if we are going to end up 2-14 anyway...why not see what he has? CAN NOT be any worse that what we are witnessing now.....can it?
I want to see us start Willie Colon at QB... He could very well be the first QB to get flagged for holding or something of that nature. Otherwise, we should just send the punting or field goal unit out being that that's the usual outcome of our drives anyway. Certainly saves a lot of time.
I'm 100x more interested to watch Simms play and at least get his nfl shot that I am for watching Geno or Vick.
Maybe, but how would you know? The most he's ever played has been a couple spare relief appearances in garbage time.
Check his college career. He wouldn't be in the NFL if not for his last name. I'd rather give any of those guys in that QB practice squad hunting thread a chance before Simms.
We should have a new starter for every one of the last 4 games. Geno(throwing), Simms, Vinny T, Joe Namath. We max protect on Vinny and Joe and let them throw it to Decker.
Agreed. I don't understand how they plan to evaluate Geno if they are running the ball nearly 50 times. See what we got in Simms.
