I'm sorry that you was put in this position to fail the 2nd time around.

Because despite how well the Jets ran it in the first half, it surely opened up one on one coverage on the outside for decker and Harvin. Yet the jets continued to run into 8-9 man boxes. Then in 3rd and long, expected Geno to get first downs, it was the lack of adjustments on offense that have been frustrating. Then Breno/Cumberland were abused by Wake because he could just pin his ears back and rush the hell out of Geno. For all of that, Simms could have done this job or Kerley or insert wildcat QB to run that offense and execute hand offs. No QB can get into a rhythm with that type of offense.

Sorry Geno, even if your not the QB of the future (hell you maybe just a backup), you deserve at least to see what you COULD do.

I don't think I've ever seen a QB that good in college that BAD in the pros.

Jets the only team that took a guy that everyone passed on, but to be fair the Jets took 2 guys ahead of Geno too

Doesn't matter. The Jets aren't playing for anything....you put him back in to run this type offense?? They could have put Tahj Boyd to run this offense tonight if that were the case. Let him air it out for all I care.

Some of you are amazing. The Jets where running all over Phins in the first half over 200 yards. Now if they started to throw the ball you would complain they should had kept running.

Geno just stop please, just stop posting. You need to throw when they stack 8 or 9 men in the box and Geno cant read a defense he cant hit a receiver because geno sucks

Damn, why'd my thread get deleted?

We were all saying the truth, I was stating facts, maybe the thread title could have revised if people didnt take 49 rushing attempts, 8 passing attempts as trolling.

No listen I don't mind that they ran the ball a lot but at some point when the Fins began to put 8-9 into the box, that's when you play action and let Decker and Harvin get downfield...max protect and see what they could do, especially on 1st down on a few drives they could have done that.

But you knew the Dolphins would EVENTUALLY start to adjust. Throw in a play-action or an occasional first down pass, something. Especially when as Ray Lucas said a thousand times in the postgame they were putting a scrubini corner one-on-one with Decker.

And look what happens when we let him throw downfield. With a short clock he throws into the middle of the field to a blanketed target with two safeties converging. Absolutely comical. He can't read defenses and he can't go through progressions. It's a well documented failing by this point. He made that throw because it was predetermined.

Look, Geno is the shittiest QB to ever play in the NFL at this point. But it's kind of like how Mark Sanchez ended up after 4 years on this team with this coaching and management. A young QB just gets pyschologically torn to shreds piece by piece with Brian Winters, Willie Colon, 0 weapons for his first 20 games and a middling OC and shitty QB coach.

I think Sanchez had it worse though, he had a few more weapons but he had Wayne Hunter and Schotty. I always said I thought Sanchez could be a very solid QB but this team tried to destroy his career. He caught a break to get another chance on a high powered offense but it vindicates the position. If things don't change from the top of the offensive coaching staff down here a young QB can't be developed. Sanchez looks like a good QB right now and I believe he'd be throwing less INTs right now if Schotty didn't put all that nonsensical shit in his head during his formative years. Geno is way more fragile mentally and probably wasn't as good to start with, but he wasn't supposed to be as bad as he looks right now.

Look at Vick, he's never been this bad. This is just a toxic fucking offense for any QB top to bottom. Hopefully things look bad enough that Geno is the last sacrificial lamb and Woody will bring in competent people in this area during the offseason for the first time ever.

Like Sanchez, I'm wondering if Geno would fare better in a stable offensive system.

It's hard for me to judge a QB playing in this system the past few years. This is why I want a complete overhaul of the coaching staff if we draft Mariota or Winston. No way am I giving this coaching staff a 3rd young QB to work with.

Hopefully Geno can find his way onto St. Louis or something. He needs to get out of here, the fans have made up their mind about him. Same as to what happened with Sanchez.

Smith wasn't given a chance. This game is completely on the coaching staff. I'm tired of this Rex Ryan 1970s football in the golden age of the passing game. With a two win team and nothing to lose, throw the damn ball in the second half. Don't get me wrong. I want the team to lose to draft a QB, but it is a joke to watch the continual offensive ineptitude game after game, year after year. It's coaching, not personnel. If Ryan Fitzpatrick throws 6 TD passes in a game for the run heavy Texans, it's embarrassing to watch the Jets throw for 9 TDs in 12 games.

    I agree.

I like Rex, but his time has run out here.

No, this is bullshit. Geno had decent enough weapons and a decent enough OC to work with this year. This organization is a black hole for offense anyway but Geno doesn't have nfl level ability.
