Philly ran it mostly in the 2nd half, they ran well in the 1st half but Mark had over 200 yds. They put it in cruise control and he barely threw in the 2nd half or he'd have had 350-400 yds. this is another example of why we don't just look at stats w/o knowing how the stats were accumulated.

Not from an initial sack like Mark took against Green Bay the other week. Even so, when we played the Broncos earlier this season - we got to Manning early and he still re-gained his form later in the game.

Let's not compare Mark to all time greats btw doesn't work well in your favor

Mark was fine in the first half, the D allowed that game to get out of control. Mark sucked in the 2nd half in garbage time.

Except, that Wrecks has bent both over, while winning with the former....in their buildings...or did I get that wrong?

When it comes to Mark I just feel his supporters have a tendency to overrate his solid performances and underrate his bad ones. Mark was solid on Thanksgiving. He did what he needed to do to help his team win. He wasn't great, he wasn't outstanding. He did a nice job, there are a lot of QB's who can do that, especially in that offense. Why do you think all the ex NFL players who are now analysts are praising Chip Kelly?

When he doesn't turn the football over, plays with some level of consistency, has good blocking, and playmakers at receiver and RB, he can be effective. Most QB's should be able to do that though.

Mark is not a QB who is going to elevate his team, he's a QB who can do a solid job with a strong supporting cast around him, and i'm not trying to say thats a bad thing.

he was pretty damn good on Thanksgiving, people look at overall #s and he didn't throw for 300 or have 4 TDs but he didn't have to throw in that 2nd half b/c the game was out of hand.

why didn't Chip Kelly go after just any QB? why wait for Mark to shake free?

I praise him for what he is, I don't pretend he is great or ever has been. the sanchez haters pretend like he is the worst QB in football and when he succeeds take all credit away from him.

It's not about overall numbers. But to build on that, yes, he doesnt put up great numbers like great players such as Brady, Rodgers, Peyton. Thats why they're great.

He played well on Thanksgiving, he was efficient. He did a good job in a great system, with great players around him. He's a nice fit in Philly, but he's upgradable. He falls into the category of a solid fallback option IMO, if you have a team that can play around him.

Example, Sanchez probably wouldnt be that good this year with the Jets. He'd probably be somewhere in between 2012 and 2011. But that's because it's the teams responsibility to put their players in the best position to succeed. I think we're starting to see that the Jets have a problem doing that. Bledsoe said it best, this is a place where QB's go to die.

stop w/ the system excuses. if it was all about the system he wouldn't have targeted Mark.

Obviously w/ our talent he wouldn't be as good but he'd be much better than Geno or Vick.

it's about talent around him more than system. when he had talent here he won, he has talent again and is winning again.

What are you talking about? It's not an excuse. Clearly a QB friendly system, thats not debatable dude. It's pretty well known by this point. Foles was doing the same thing, although he was turning the ball over at a lesser rate.

You don't have to be a running QB to fit Kelly's system. You know that right? You just have to be athletic enough, which Mark is.

Foles was turning it over at a similar rate this year and his TOs weren't mostly in garbage time like Marks.

either Mark sucks or he doesn't, bad QBs don't become good QBs.

Why does it matter if turnovers happen in garbage time or not? All I take from that is you basically saying it's ok for a QB to make bad throws cause his team is out of the game. Mark didn't play well in the GB game, and it's not because of his "garbage time numbers". Let me ask you something. Do you think Mark Sanchez is out there thinking to himself "well, it's garbage time, so i'm not going to try as hard as I would if the game was closer". Cause if thats the case then there is a bigger issue on hand.

And it's not as cut and dry as a QB either sucks of he doesnt. There is a middle ground in there as well, a QB can be average, decent, good, great, or bad. All QB's aren't defined as either good or sucks. That's doing a disservice to guys like Rodgers and Brady cause you'd then be looping them in with guys who are good but not great. Sanchez falls into the average group of QB's who can be good at times, but he needs a strong team around him. He's not a top QB, which I know your not saying he is. He can win with a strong talent roster, I agree. But he's not the only QB who can do that.

The Jets are an offensively inept organization, they have been for a good while. The Eagles have been a very well run offensive organization since Reid took over and it's continued with one of the best offensive minds in football in Kelly, if not the best. I'm actually trying to cut Sanchez a bit of a break here, i'm saying it's not all his fault. "That place...that's where QB's go to die". That quote gets me so angry, you know why? Cause it's true.

There is no doubt in my mind that QB's tend to get worse when they get here. There is a reason for that, whether it's the HC only fully understanding one side of the ball, the past GM not adequately addressing the offense, or some combo of both. It's unacceptable.

it matters b/c if it isn't costing your team games then why would I care?

the offensively inept Jets made 2 title games w/ good offensive teams and Mark was vital t both runs. when we had talent he was good just like he is now.

What a fucking joke. No intelligent or sane human being can honestly believe Sanchez is better than Romo. The idea of it is just hilarious.

Except he wasn't good and never was. Like in Philly now, he just had to be average and let the defense and running game do their work. Good/great QBs can make it work inspire of a lack of a defense or weapons. Brady got to a title game last year with zero help on offense and a mediocre defense. Peyton made Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne into HOFers, and has never had a consistent defense. Rodgers is making Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb much better than they actually are.

Romo has 14 4QC and 17 GWD since 2011. Sanchez: 11 and 12 from 2009 to 2012. Romo has a career 103 passer rating in the 4th quarter. Sanchez? 68.1. Let's stop this Romo chokes meme. He's a damn good QB who has had to carry a mediocre team coached by fucking idiots for years. He's a far better QB than Sanchez and if you think not, you're clueless.

It matters because it still brings into question his judgement when throwing the football. Picks are picks.

In 09 and 10 the Jets had a great O-Line and could run the football, especially in 09. But I know your going to disregard their ability to run the football as a way to make Mark look better then he was at that time so whatever. I've had that discussion with you before.

The Jets under Rex and Tannenabum/Idzik have been awful offensively. It least when it comes to them working together to build an offense. Mangini and Tannenbaum built that O-Line and some of the other pieces that helped contribute to those 2 title games.

But regardless of that, those title games are so far removed now. It's not the same team, this is where Sanchez gets a break. The Coaches/GM's have shown that they can't make things work on offense. So i'm not totally blaming Mark for his failures here. This is evidenced by the fact that the last 3 seasons the Jets have not even been able to average 19 PPG. That's a recipe for disaster. I'd love to have a QB who can throw some of those 4 TD games that you push to the side as meaningless.

I'm confused. When did the debate change from Mark being the worse QB to ever wear cleats vs good but poorly managed to average vs Brady, Manning, Rodgers great?

I'm confused. You didn't know Mark was poorly managed? That's never been a secret. And even if it was, it should be obvious that since Mark has left, the Jets still can't get it right on offense. Therefore, that takes some of the blame off Mark while having to throw it on the regime he played for.

He's not good, but it shouldnt come as a surprise that he is playing better in Philly then he did here. And he's not playing all that good in Philly. He's been ok.

So he is the worst QB to ever strap on a helmet and by happenstance was also mismanaged? As I've said before if Mark goes on to win more playoff games while coincidentally playing as well or better than he did in his previous 6, he should be acknowledged somewhere for being the luckiest worst QB to ever play the game.
