Yeah, 6-10 is comparable to 7-5 and likely 10-6 at worst. Sure, Harbaugh and Singletary are comparable in ability just because they are both going to both end up having been fired by the niners.

    Cookoo!

The best part is the guy saying that the 7-5 49ers are eliminated. Also doesn't mention anything of how the tons of talent that was there developed under Harbaugh.

I'm not responding anymore to you. Just because the team had the record they did doesn't mean they are bad overall. Everything has a value and a potential. And everything has a final result. Did the stock beat expectations did it meet expectations or did it fall below expectations. In regards to SF if you thoroughly analyze their roster from top to bottom you'd be impressed with their GM. Problem lied in execution they underperformed in those years hence the main reason singletary got let go. Majority of harbaugh seasons to the public he exceeded expectations but when you thoroughly analyze it did he really? Check out their talent and figure out their value. But for me I valued them very high. Right now I believe Cincy Broncos and SF are some of the most talented teams in this league and have no excuses if they lose. if any of those teams fail to make the conference championship game the coaches should be fired because of poor utilization of talent. Harbaugh is overrated and I'm sticking to my guns.

So you are now smarter than all of the football guys who say he's a top coach? Truly analyze the roster.... fine. No coach is good with a bad roster. Belichick sucked in Cleveland. As a fan you should want a GM who can get you talent and a coach who can coach it. You're just a fool who think 3 title games and 1 super bowl loss is not good.

For the record I am not saying harbaugh is a bad coach all I am saying is he may not be as good as some people think. I for one believe that he is overrated. He has coached a very talented team in his tenure in SF hence why he has accumulated a great resume. People saying he took the team from 6-10 or whatever the hell their record was when singletary was coach has to thoroughly go back and do better analysis. Yes the team was 6-10 before harbaugh took over but they underperformed. Were the jets an 8-8 team last year hell no but they were because they over performed. With all that talent harbaugh has why are they on the verge of missing the playoffs better yet why do we want a coach that is on the verge of missing the playoffs with all that talent. If you are basing it on his resume then you will be deceived because that is due to the talent he had to work with. Jets have terrible talent and it will reflect as the jets will continue to suffer until they make the necessary personal moves. The main thing this offseason is to find the right GM to turn this ship around and stop thinking harbaugh is the solution because of his inflated resume

On the verge of missing the playoffs? The Niners are very much in it. Kaepernick just isn't as good as everyone thought.

Whether they make it or not the niners have underperformed this season and you have to start asking why? That team has a strong defense and a talented offensive line, wr, TE, rbs, Kap played well enough to work his way to that big contract which I would have never given him btw. Team was so stacked of talent that alex smith for god sake got them to the NFC championship game. Kap has more potential than smith and has had a track record of success. Harbaugh has to take accountability and what pisses me off is that you all want him and think he should be the one to turn this ship around. Why should he be the one because of his inflated resume?

Harbaugh is without question a top 5 coach....whether he's likable or burns out his welcome early is another question

Saw an article from earlier today stating he would likely get an extension if the Niners make the playoffs.

Why are you guys getting so bent out of shape? There are way too many variables and way to small a sample size to know with any kind of certainty how "good" a team's talent really is, how "good" the coach really is, and how to weigh the importance of each. We're talking about such a short time span, a few years, a few dozen games. We can theorize, but we can't know.

Which is basically Jtrain's argument: that Harbaugh's rep is (or at least may be) vastly overrated by the 49'ers talent over the last few years.

Whether he's right or not, it's obviously a reasonable argument. No need to jump all over the guy.

Really they got more talent then "won lost record shows"? Please tell me where this talent at?QB? OL? CB's? WR's? Where? Now we have a nasty front 7 but that it. But they spend so much time on the field it sad.

A "QB coach" with a top 3 best offense when it comes to talent & weapons barely can put points up, still been to 3 NFC chips and a SB BUT is still on the hot seat... Suspect. I'll take em only if he brings that d. Coordinator BC that's where their success really came from in San Fran. That's the most underachieving offense I've ever seen when you compare their talent to production. They will force 5 ints & still score less than 20 points on offense on any team too at that, good decent or bad. I mean they have 3 #1 WRs (or at least played that position in the past), an all-pro TE, and a two headed monster at RB, plus another great weapon on the ground/slightly above average QB in Kaep. Wtf!! Your an offensive QB coach putting up jets like numbers sometimes worse with that talent?! Lol what exactly would he make of this team? Like I said bring that d.coord and I'm all for it.

Yea he has a man crush on him and tried to get him when we still had meatball. Philbin is still on the hot seat...but I dont think Harbaugh's wife will ever leave CA.

There's a huge amount of hypocrisy in a lot of these posts about Harbaugh. You can't have it both ways.

He had so much success in the past because of all the talent on that team!

But look at this year the lack of success is all his fault!

Their front 7 has been crushed by injury missing 4 out of 7 of their starters for the majority of the year including their 3 All-Pro linebackers, and run stuffing defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey & Ray McDonald.

Their offensive line has been in disarray with right tackle Anthony Davis struggling after returning from shoulder surgery and Alex Boone coming back rusty from a holdout. Their center Kilgore is on IR and the other guard spot has been the only bright spot.

Look at the advance football metrics they've been pretty bad. Stop talking about all these weapons it's been proven that even with a mobile quarterback one whose under pressure is going to struggle. People vastly underrate the effects of an offensive line and how if they start to underperform so does the rest of the offense.

Someone mentioned a two headed monster when Carlos Hyde looks like a career backup (like Shonn Greene as a starter).

Last but not least have some of you watched Kaepernick? He looks like he's throwing a loaf of bread and some of the throws are just horrible. His two picks to Sherman were atrocious and that's not coaching that's physical mistakes.

Harbaugh isn't a godsend but to say he's not a good coach cause some of you don't like the guy is ignorant. The 49ers lead the NFL in arrests over the past 3 years, and have had several players hold out the past couple years; there's a reason he implemented a no bullshit policy.

Bullshit. If Tanny was still the GM, we aren't sitting on 20 mil in cap dollars, saddled with Geno Smith, and...most likely remain a playoff contender.

the Hate on Tanny over Sanchez' contract (though he worked out every big dollar contract he gave out in the long run) got him ridden out of town.

Tannenbaum and Rex produced the most successful Jets teams since Joe Namath, and that includes Parcells.

Rex is not the problem, the GM is. And never was, prior to Idzik.

The lack of patience by the fans, and the overwhelming sensitivity to the media by the owner is.

I love the idea of Harbaugh coming here. I think he would be a great coach to take over for Rex. The only thing is that we might not have to trade for him. I don't think they will make the playoffs with that logjam in the NFC and if they don't - he would likely be fired and available to just hire without a trade

Finally someone got it right! Great job JV, seriously.

I have 2 friends that are niners fans, they watch every game and everything you said is exactly what they told me is wrong with the team.

Their biggest fear is to lose Harbaugh.

How is it that you manage to work in Sanchez and Tannenbaum in every one of your posts Hobbes? Knock it off already. Both guys are gone. Sanchez is in Philly now and Tanny is an consultant for the Dolphins in case you were wondering whatever happened to them. Painful as it may be for you they're not coming back so if you would, please keep them out of the Jet Forum conversations..

If Rex is gone and obviously it looks that way there's no coach I'd rather have than Harbaugh.
