Decker has been better than Nicks this season.

Also, you don't think the reason other FA receivers are doing better is cause of the offense (QB's throwing to them as well) they're in? Replace Decker here with Golden Tate or Emmanuel Sanders, and I bet you their stat lines wouldn't be that much better than Decker's. And keep in mind, Decker was hurt early in the season, and missed a couple of games.

Decker will be fine once we upgrade at QB, and the offense itself improves.

Rex used to be bulletproof thanks to Woody's manlove for him. Idzik may have been GM, but he didn't have the authority to fire Rex. Woody stated many times that Idzik and Rex were "peers" and both reported to him which in itself is a horrible way to structure your leadership. So how do you fire someone your boss loves?

People wonder why the good GM candidates never came back for second interviews. This leadership situation is a f'n trainwreck thanks to the billion dollar baby that owns the team.

So let me get this straight... Are the Jets beat writers all about attacking the Jets and slandering them? Or do the Jets beat guys really know their shit? Can't have it both ways. I've never read more apologist, conspiracy theory, excuse making bs in my life. The excuses and theories people make up on this board to drive their asinine agendas are nauseating sometimes.

Regardless, who the fuck cares if Rex knew he was going to get fired by Idzik before this season began. It doesn't mean anything because Rex Ryan deserves to be fired now based on his head coaching performance, not on some stupid hypothetical directive that was made by Idzik before the season started. Ryan coached his way out of a job, end of story.

It gets kinda wacky around here sometimes with all the media hate. As long as the Jets were winning, beat writers had positive things to write about. Well, lately that hasn't been the case but I suppose the beat writers should have done their best Baghdad Bob imitation and continued to write rosy columns complete with Rex Ryan style compliments to any and all. Everyone hates Cimini and Mehta. Guess its chic to do so. Mostly though the hate is reserved for all those that don't see a light at the end of the tunnel as a bright shiny new day but instead, a southbound freight train. History will prove which side was correct. It usually does.

You are spot on about HISTORY - it will prove what is correct. 1969 was a long time ago. That is a hell of a lot of history.

U should have heard the person replacing Greeny yesterday on his show he actually said the NYJs STINK on national TV. I wonder what Mr. Woody has to say about that. Just for the record that was not either one of the NYJs beat writers that are hated on this forum:mad:

It's not as if you have to classify the entire beat corps with one label or another.

In the span of two days, we had one beat writer saying that Idzik was flapping his gums to scouts and coaches from other teams about firing Rex, another one saying that Idzik was so paranoid about spreading team info that he wouldn't let Rex talk to the media about visiting his ailing father, one writer saying that the Geno decision this week wasn't Rex's choice, another saying that it was his choice.

They are all over the map, and the only things they have in common is that they love Rex, hate Idzik, and will basically do anything short of a donkey show (ok, Manish would do one) for cheap website hits.

People whining about media hate need to pull the scales from their eyes and realize how manipulative and insincere most of these writers are. Tabloid journalism isn't about portraying the truth, it is about portraying whatever version of the truth will make them the most money.

I'm not classifying them, rather I'm pointing out several delusional posters on this board that make the media into this larger than life force and acting like this story carries any weight when it means nothing.

That's your interpretation of the media. You obviously feel that the media hates on the Jets to an excessive degree. I think people should take the media for what they are. A medium that provides information to the masses. If you choose to interpret their information as insulting to the Jets in any manner than that's your opinion.

I don't buy that shit for a second. Furthermore, I don't care if the media makes up shit about the Jets.

Because like I've said on this board ad nauseum, you wanna know the best way to get the media to stop manipulating or making up shit about the Jets?? By winning and having a good organization.

The media may stretch the truth or manipulate points of view. However the media needs a true foundation to work off. And that foundation is the dysfunctional Jets and how they are managed at every level. The media doesn't need to make that up because the Jets are truly disgraceful in so many areas.

If the Jets were a strong franchise, winning consistently, had good coaching, strong personnel people, etc, then a lot of this media drivel would go away quickly. All these things aren't media creations. They are the doing of a shitty owner, shitty GM, shitty scouting dept and shitty HC. The media just happens to exaggerate this shit.

Yet the core problem is still the Jets franchise and the people in charge of it. The media being quiet ain't gonna fix the Jets problems. So I wouldn't put much, if any, stock in the media hate. It's not the reason this team sucks at all. The reason this team sucks is because of the people in charge of this franchise.

So that's why I could care less what some journalist writes about the team. The conspiracy theory bs about the media on this board is laughable.

Holy shit, dude, did you even read my post? How can you possibly construe what I said as the media hating the Jets?

You are classifying them, and you're lying when you say you aren't.

I guess that you are really that desperate to continue this flimsy narrative of portraying the media as an honest bunch of fellas bringing the truth to the forefront, but if you really want to try to act like I am saying the media hates the Jets, why don't you actually look at the post I made and show me where it becomes obvious that I'm saying the media hates the Jets?

You won't, because I didn't, and because your empty narrative wouldn't be supported by it, but I figured I'd give you a shot. Prove to us that you aren't the obviously transparent troll that you have appeared to be since the day registered.

Dude, no need to disparage or call posters trolls to try and bolster your argument.

Yeah I read your post. And yes, I could easily construe that you think the media hates the Jets.

Your last statement reads, "People whining about media hate need to pull the scales from their eyes and realize how manipulative and insincere most of these writers are. Tabloid journalism isn't about portraying the truth, it is about portraying whatever version of the truth will make them the most money."

So basically you're saying that the media that covers the Jets is a bunch of tabloid journalists. You also get defensive about people like me who point out that anyone who blames the media is just looking for a bullshit excuse instead of blaming the Jets mess on the real problem...the people who run the Jets.

Then you go on to say some sarcastic statement about me thinking the media that covers the Jets is an "honest bunch of fellas." So clearly you are painting the media in a less than stellar light to support your argument or infer that there actually is an issue with the media's coverage of the Jets. You should point out to me once in my previous post where I said or inferred that the media were a "bunch of honest fellas." Those are your words and your sentiment.

Rather, I'm making the much larger point that the real problem here lies within. The Jets brass is the root of this problem, not the media's coverage of the team, regardless of how sensationalist and slanted you want to make them out to be. To hear some people in this thread, you would think that the media's running and influencing the day-to-day operations of this team.

Guess all this speculation and bickering will all go in the dung heap when the season is over and the cards fall where they may. Love to see if this team can pull their heads out of their asses an just squish the fish in a few days...

That's like not blaming the gold digger wife because as long as her husband is rich, she will be faithful. I don't see why what the Jets do as a team should have anything to do with the horrible local sports media reporting. The should be upheld to an objective standard, where for example, you can't just make shit up with "anonymous" sources, and pile it on bad teams without actually providing any insightful information you can't hear from an average fan. I don't even read these clowns anymore.

Good, if Rex knew ALL along that they were planning to fire him and this how he went out then he DESERVED to be FIRED & PROVED them Right.

Well the article was speculative. And from a journalistic perspective, it's false. The only evidence is sources that have not been identified.

If it were true, it's disgusting that Idzik would waste a 12 pick draft to get rid of Rex. Just buy out Rex's contract and spend the cap money and get a cb. The Jets would be an attractive team for a new coach because of the cap space and the 12 draft picks. Now Idzik's only path to redeeming himself is to build a superbowl team...a chance he may never get again.
    I don't believe the story.

No, you really can't, and any effort you make attempting to will be a failed effort, because I've never intimated anything of the sort.

Most of the higher profile media sources - NYDN, NYPost, ESPNNY for example - are the epitome of tabloid journalism. Sensationalism, questionable sources, soap opera tactics to gain readership, and they have done it in good years and bad, so it's not like the Jets just bring that type of behavior from the media on themselves, and it's an exercise in broken logic to suggest otherwise. I'm not blaming the Jets' mess on the media, never have, and when you try to accuse me of doing so, you are basically showing how weak your narrative really is.

Fans overreact to the media because they are allowing themselves to be marks. The media has no control of the success or failure of the team, but they do have a huge influence over the morale of fans dealing with a shit team, stirring the pot whenever they can to get the most website hits. Of course the real problem lies with the team. That wasn't the point on my earlier post in this thread, it was strictly about the media, and you are purposefully trying to confuse the direction of this argument, which I've seen plenty of trolls do on this forum.

My problem with the Idzik draft isn't making a few mistakes on guys but not using 12 picks intelligently. He could have bundled some to trade up. Or traded a few for future picks like next season. To be fair on this the 2014 draft was supposed to be one of the deepest and some experts said that the players in the higher rounds were pretty good and not that far apart in talent from from the 1st and 2nd rounds. Also the Supplemental picks were not tradable. PS I still think that Pryor will end up being a good player. We could have a good secondary next year if Milliner and McDougle return and play up to their ability.

I think idzik has to go with rex. It doesnt make sense to keep him and what happens if we suck next year? Which is really likely. Do we fire him then, and fire the coach and bring in a new set the next season? I think we just need to hit reset. Better GM, bring in his coach, and start from there.

Thats highly unlikely. Milliner cant stay healthy, and Mcdougle never was.

Come on now. Let's not jump out the window before the fire. McD hasn't even started his NFL career yet. And Milliner to me is going to be a good starting NFL corner. Do you know how many good players are currently injured and out for the season in the NFL.
