My gut says no, but if we go 2-14/3-13, it's certainly possible.

That's not the only reason he needs to go man. It's not just the injured draft picks. It's the missed picks, too. It's letting Cromartie go while we watch the CB carousel. It's the fact that he's only good at trading away for players already in the NFL. Or his role in the dysfunction that is our QB situation. Or the fact that he can't evaluate talent. Or the fact that he let our offensive line turn to garbage.

Or here's an easy one : no good coach will come to a team where GM probably on his last legs. So if we keep Idzik, we will be back at square one in 1 - 3 years with the inevitable house cleaning that should be done now.

I don't agree about Cromartie. He sucked last year and most fans were glad to see him go. OK we had injuries at corner and he signed Patterson-mistake. If you asked me if I had to do it over would I draft the following 3 secondary players again: Milliner:Yes-I think most NFL teams would too. Pryor- No. McDougle: No. Look it's easy to look in hindsight and say we should have drafted player x or player y but for every good player selected there are other teams who drafted inferior personnel. We selected Trevor Reilly in he 7th round and he's playing downs and making a contribution.

We agree that Pryor wasn't the right pick there. He might not even be the best safety. Every team makes mistakes but to have 12 picks, one of the weakest rosters in the NFL and get special teams production from Reilly and a benched Pryor is a big reason we have two wins. It's not just hindsight.

And on Cromartie, yes most fans wanted him gone. But us fans aren't in practice and evaluating him everyday. It's the GM and the coach who should know whether a player is hurt or just plain bad, and it was a crucial mistake. Same reason we aren't evaluating Aboushi everyday...we trust this organization to make decisions on talent and we consistently fail.

As for Pryor the jury is still out on him but if the 2014 draft was today Idzik wouldn't select him. He'd trade up for Beckham. Didn't NFL Network or was it ESPN have a show all about this. If the draft was today (and you knew what you knew right now) who would be selected. To me Milliner showed top flight CB potential at the end of last season and I would select him again. To me the Db problem this season is as much scheme as it is personnel. And the Jets are one of many teams signing players off of practice squads. A lot of Db injuries in the NFL>

Most fans did NOT want Cromartie gone and the ones who did only did if they were replacing him with somebody better not the inept garbage they ended up with. Two years ago Idzik had Bell, Landry, Revis and Cromartie and people can say what they want but all four of them were 10,000 times better than anything we have now. If Ryan is fired and Idzik isn't it will be a travesty.

Idziks getting fired. I'm fairly confident no one wants him hiring and drafting a new coach and qb.

It's the perfect time to blow it up, new gm, new coach, new qb, etc

I just meant in recent years. Or the Super Bowl era. Or the years where they ceased to exist.

I try to forgot we've been so bad for so long.

I would argue that Weeb winning the Superbowl would account for that title.
So in reality Rex is only the winninest Jet coach to his nut huggers.

At the end of the season I want to hear a press conference like Dick Steinberg gave "that's enough firing for one day" if these media stories are true, which I doubt, lets see what he does with his HC

I hope he's gone. In my opinion, three biggest factors from this point forward are:
    A) Geno's QB play vs Sanchez over next 4 games. If Woody is eating turkey tomorrow and watches Sanchez throw for 4 TDs and then sees Geno, aka Idzik's guy, throw 3 interceptions in a blowout at home, could spark him to move
    B) play of younger guys during the final stretch (Rex said he'd start giving younger guys more looks)
And C) if he has a backbone.

Dan Leberfeld tweeted tonight that he talked to a writer. The guy told him that playing Geno is Idzik's idea, and Woody is on board with it. In his opinion Idzik is staying with Woody's blessing.
Sounds like we have 3 more years at least of Idzik, and the new coach he will bring.
I'm thinking this is what is going to happen. Nothing left to do but hope a pray that Idzik and His new coach can turn this around.

Leberfeld is such a jerkoff that Rex used to make fun of him at pressers after games because he would always give his full name and website when he asked a question even though Rex and everyone else knew exactly who he was. It was a cheap way of giving publicity for his site and after he kept doing it Rex couldn't help but give him shit about it. Again an unnamed source from an unreliable reporter.

It really is stunning how mediocre to bad the Jets have been for how long they have. It's almost mind numbing if you think about it! At least the Browns fans had a few years there to regrow brain cells LOL!!!
