Funny that the players want Rex to stay when Rex should really want this putrid bunch of no-talent losers to go...

I really do believe the Jets have a lot better talent than we showed tonight. The team came out flat and when things didn't go right then it got out of control. Some of those scores like the blocked punt were just give me's. At his presser when asked if the team quit on him Rex said No. They were outplayed but they didn't quit. For 3 quarters maybe he was right but they did quit later in the game. In my opinion he's lost the team. Rex isn't convincing. I don't think he believes in this team, either.

Of course they want rex to stay. They can get their asses kicked every week and he will be there to pat them on the back.

I don't get all this "play hard" talk. The Jets have lost games by 20 or more points I-don't-know-how-many-times the past two seasons. this team quits over and over. He is doing an awful job. As for the players not wanting Rex fired, I have a simple solution for all board members. Let Woody turn ownership of the team over to the players. This board would dry up in two months. Players are idiots, by and large. Maybe they think they are playing hard. Maybe Rex thinks they did not quit to get to 38-3 last night. Maybe delusion is the order of the day. But you know what they say: don't piss on my leg and try to tell me that it is raining.

If you're a Rex apologist and screaming bloody murder and NO TALENT what about losing by 35 points and getting our asses kicked twice by an inferior team. That little talent. I don't think so. This team again didn't come to play. Was flat after a bye- in Rex's six years the fifth time he's lost after a bye. And in the 4th quarter the team quit on him.

Ftr I don't think Buffalo is a below average team. They had their issues with Manuel to start the season, but a mid pack Qb like Orton has fixed that pretty much. They were down at RB against Miami, who is also a much better team than the last ten years, so I get that Buff lost that game. Meanwhile they have a great DL, an excellent pass rush, some decent players in the back seven, and a pretty good OL. I like the receivers they are growing there, too. The Jets had no answer for Woods. None.

We'll see how they do here on out, and a lot of it depends on Orton and of course the usual of avoiding injuries. I don't know what their schedule is at the moment, but while I don't expect them to make the playoffs, I would not be surprised if they do.

As far as the main subject of this thread, though, imo the Jet players have no right to any say in who is their HC. If they loved Rex so much they would play better for him. Instead it all seems like he's making it easier for a bunch of losers to continue losing. Who cares what they say?

Orton is slow but had all the time in the world to throw the ball. Plus his guys esp Woods made plays and the Jets players didn't. They have a tough game on Sunday against a team without stars who plays good football.

This is NOT surprising--a player speaking up for his current coach. Have you ever heard a player tell the media "I hope our coach gets fired," or "I don't want to play for HIM"? Of course not. The coach would not PLAY any player that speaks out against his coach. If a football player wants to play on Sunday of course they will praise their coach just like Rex keeps praising Idzik knowing that Idzik has the power to fire him tomorrow.

Doesn't matter anymore. It's time for a change.

I wish Rex all the best at his next gig, will always be a fan of his.

Of course they don't want Rex to leave.. He let's them get away with whatever the fuck they want to do.. Miss meetings, show up to practice with cheeseburgers, miss meetings the night before a game, have them believing they're better than they really are, leisurely strolling on and off the field for penalties, .. Oh, and did I mention missing meetings the night before a game??
