Cooper and Mariota are game changers and for our offense to grow we need dynamic players! CJ wont be back so if either Mariota or Cooper are gone we need to stay focused on adding dynamic playmakers on offense! Gordon/Ivory tandum would demand respect and would open things up for Decker and Harvin down the field. My rankings based on BPA for our needs. RD1 - QB/WR/RB RD2 - CB/OLB/G/QB RD3 - OLB/G/CB RD4 - G/WR/CB RD5 - CB/OT/ILB/OLB RD6 - RB/OT/G/WR RD7 - WR/ILB/OLB/DT/S/G
No way you can justify to the fanbase about taking a guard with a top 5 pick, even though it is night as day this OLine needs help and RG is the most expandable position with Colon a FA(Thank god). Would not mind a new RT at all, even if its a learning process for the tackle. Would love to address a RT in say round 3 where DBrick/Giacomini can start in 2015 then have that young RT learn as an understudy before stepping in(Hopefully not for injury). This line needs a proven, stable RG from FA though IMO. Don't know what corner warrants such a high selection, arguably the best CB Peters has some problems with the Huskies. 2016 draft class has a few real blue chippers on paper at this position. Would prefer to go after a vet CB in FA. Jameis is too much of a dice roll and he's immature not just off the field but on the field with his play.....I don't know if he'd be ready for Week 1 2015 or if that would be a good thing for whatever team drafts him. There might be a stud OT that teams would give up future draft picks for, I know fans don't like to hear trading down but if you nab a 2016 2nd round pick/1st round pick along with a team's 2nd round pick in the 2015 draft for a trade down of like 7 spots, you gotta pull the trigger if Cooper/Mariota are not there for the Jets.
We should be picking in the top 3. I think Tenn game is a tossup and that should decide whether we pick 3 versus 5 or 6.
Not in the first round...keep in mind Wisconsin RBs tend to have a lot of mileage and are made better be a traditionally great O line. A couple RBs I'd love to have later in the draft are DJ Foster from ASU, good speed and pass catcher, Utah's Devontae Booker, and Ameer Abdullah from Nebraska
If we don't get Mariota or Cooper you take OT if the top one is there which should or Winston (MAYBE)
Geez byz some of the shit u post is funny, lol....... Seriously, OL, OL , and more OL...whoever is making the decisions, we need 2 hi round picks along the OL. Rebuild 2/5 of it in one draft and move on. Doofus idzik already blew several picks on the OL but so what. We need early round talent, not mid round turnstiles
I'd love Melvin Gordon on this team. If we end up picking around 10th I'd even be on board. That said if Mariota and Cooper are gone I'd take a long hard look at the best 3-4 OLB Randy Gregory.. don't quote me on it but maybe even over Cooper. Winston is obviously in the discussion but we'd be nasty if we finally had a legit pass rush.
Winston is too much of a gamble.. Yes he has the skills to be a great QB (except his slow release) BUT he just isn't clean and has serious character flaws.
It's funny how you attack me for DEFENDING Jameis when Mariota fans are about ready to marry him. Also, blow me bud, you're an unfunny douche with a really garbage ass opinion, I'm embarrassed Im a fan of the same team as you.
if twitter and the interent were a thing in the 60's no one on this board would want namath either.... if jameis wins ANOTHER national title and is undefeted in his entire college career, hes gotta be a jet. plus hes got that magic johnson smile
Your hero is going to be an epic failure in the NFL because he has the brain of an infant. And there are plenty bigger things you should be embarrassed about.
