We got to the AFCCG that year because we were a better overall team plain and simple. Vick was asked to do far more to give his team a chance.
And why had they lost the game far before he turned the ball over? 2 Reasons..the defense gave up points and all the Eagles 'led' by Sanchez could muster was 2 first half FG's. Something we've seen a lot from him over his career when playing good teams.
mostly the D and some drops. Mark wasn't bad in the 1st half. so good teams don't make the playoffs? how did he help his team win 4 road playoff games then?
Nice try to change the argument, the argument always has been whether Sanchez lifts a team or just rides along with the talent? the Jets made the Playoffs inspite of Sanchez in 2009, he was a huge negative. but the leagues best defense in terms of points allowed compensated. Sanchez this year is 70% and 5 TD's to 1 pick when he goes off the play action, one thing he does very well is the fake handoff, this is in large part because teams bite on the run fearing McCoy or Sproles. When Sanchez doesn't run the play action 2 tD 5 picks and either 56 or 58% completion. In short he's thriving when the defense bites on the fake handoff but when it's on Sanchez dropping back bad things happen. You could try running the play action all the time but it would lose it's effectiveness, play action only works if you use it just often enough to sell the run but no so often that the defense is sitting on it. The Eagles are a team that's running at a -8 give/take away ratio. Teams with negative give/take away are living on borrowed time and the team with the fewest turnover wins 80-90% of the time. No team has given the ball away more than the Eagles have at 27 turnovers, Sanchez has given them 8 of those turnovers. So far the Eagles have been shooting seven's, but that luck streak will end....but then again of their 8 wins only 1 has come against a team that has a winning record.
there's no riding along, either he's good enough to win w/ or he's not and he has proven over and over again he is no matter the average fan thinks while looking at blind stats w/o context.
To add to that, Sanchez has continued that streak, 3 wins against sub .500 teams, lost to a +500 team. There goes the average fan comment, I always know when you know you're argument has gotten thin..the "average" fan comment comes out trying to demean everyone who thinks differently and where the evidence is to the other side. All Sanchez proved with the Jets is with the right people around him even the worst QB in the league can win. And if the Eagles continue their trend of only beating sub .500 team they'll be renamed the vultures because they only feed on carcasses but fall prey to anything with a pulse. Case in point, in their wins this season their opponents are a combined 28.5-59.5. Which explains why they have a winning record despite all the turnovers...they've been playing very bad teams.... But like I said, the next 5 games will tell the story, 3 of those 5 are against teams that are over .500 and in the fight for their division. The other two teams are teams they've beaten already with sub .500 records but this time those teams will be on home turf ..Do you think Sanchez and the Eagles can survive the turnovers with that schedule? I'd be willing to bet the Eagles miss the playoffs even. Pick, pick, fumble, pick.
hey guess what, still not on the jets. still super happy about that! he played pretty well today. still missed BADLY on a number of throws. his accuracy is still not great, although i give him credit for his completion percentage being much better than it has been. and he has managed to throw the behind the los, at the los and within 5 yards of the los plays much better than he has in the past. he was wildly inaccurate on a couple out patterns yesterday. and continues to turn the ball over. pretty much the same guy he has always been except for the points i made above. and he still sucks fat monkey balls.
it doesn't matter if he beat winless teams, teams under .500 or any team. if he sucked as bad as you guys think a)he wouldn't be playing and b)he wouldn't be playing well and winning.
What does that have to do with you saying he wouldn't be throwing 2 picks a game? Lol I have been giving him credit when he plays well. I just think it is funny when you exaggerate and then waffle on things when you are proven wrong. Let me guess, that was another thing that wasn't supposed to be taken literally.
To the Contrary Junc it does matter, if you want to win, or even get to the playoffs, you have to beat teams over .500. If not then the team is a paper tiger. And the flaws of the Eagles are evident. I can go back for years and illustrate how turnovers effect teams records, but we'll just use this year for now. Only one team that's lost 20 or more turnovers has a winning record, you can go back in history for years and you'll find an occasional exception bu the top 10 teams in turning the ball over are almost universally sub .500 teams...no team that's been at or near the leader in turnovers has reached a super bowl as far as I've found so far, most that reach the playoffs (usually via wildcard or a weak division), lose within the first 2 rounds of the playoffs, there are occasional exceptions to that but to the best of my knowledge none have ever reached the superbowl..why? You can't turn the ball over against good teams, they'll kill ya.
Listen at the 7:51 point in the video linked below. Kelly takes some of the responsibility for the first interception on the pass to Riley Cooper. Q: "On the first interception, was there an issue with the route Riley ran, or what lead to that pick?" COACH KELLY: "No, I just think there's probably a little bit...probably on me. Little bit of ambiguity on where we're going with the read, so I cleaned that up." Immediately after that a reporter asked if his desire for players to not make the same mistake twice applies to Mark Sanchez. Kelly's answer is interesting in terms of appreciating the point where Sanchez is at regarding his experience with the offense. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/v...ip-Kelly/2d5d240a-78a9-48e7-9e75-5c8c3e15ed89
If this is true, holy shit. I don't usually watch the Eagles, but I'll see them twice against Dallas. I'll be paying attention to that for sure.
Did you expect Kelly to throw him under the bus? It would be different if Sanchez didn't have a huge history with turnovers, but he does and he just keeps doing it.
