Until recently Sanchize they weren't using him In OT, which is beyond stupid, 4-4 with open ice with his speed

Not just that, but one of the reasons why Brian Boyle was so good on the PK was his reach and ability to close down those lanes quickly on the PK. Kreider isn't 6'7 like Boyle, but he's very athletic, has a big reach and has the speed to close down those lanes.

He's not a great defensive player, by any means. I'm just wondering why they haven't even tried it. Brassard isn't a great defensive player either, and once he was told that he was going to be on the PK to start the season, his defense seems to have improved.

I actually like Lucic because of how much he dislikes the Habs.

Honestly, my biggest issue whith him is that he can actually play good hockey, and he does not have to resort to being a cheap shot.

Even that play where it led to the fight, the first thing he does is go for prouts head, before they square off.

The more I watch Martin St. Louis play, the more I think the Rangers got away like gangbusters in that trade (especially now that it only cost one pick instead of two). He provides just as much leadership to that locker room than Callahan did, and to think that in two years, avoiding that impact to the salary cap is going to set this franchise to make some major moves.

As much as I doubt that Stepan has the talent to be a first-line center, I would be very happy to be proven wrong.

I can envision him signing one-year deals with the Rangers until he decides he wants to retire.

Actually Callahan is lighting it up right now on the first line with Stamkos. The real MSL value was last year getting us to the SCF because no MSL = Losing to Pittsburgh in round 2. That alone was worth the pick, and it also brought Boyle to the team as a FA. But Callahan was going to walk anyways with those salary demands so it worked out for the best

Is this a joke? He doesn't have the potential to be a first-line center? He already is a first line center.

By Default. He is the first line center THE team that is thinnest at that position in the NHL.

Yeah, excellent production since he came back on wing where he belongs - the guy is absolutely a better goal machine than Callahan and he brings the same leadership IMO.

MSL is one of those well-conditioned smaller athletes that can produce when pushing 40. I hope he has more left in the tank past this season
