CMAN..you are far enough inland yet south...still...your location is in the higher probability to get smacked.
Gonna be in the Southern Tier of NY for this one visiting family for Thanksgiving. Looks like 10-14" of paste. Glad I fly into BGM on Tuesday and not Wed.
weird how every time I'm in the Northeast there is a big weather event. The Christmas blizzard in 2010. Hurricane Irene and now this.
looks like the 0z GFS is west FWIW. Id ride the Euro for this type of event. It has a better handling.
its east. sorry. I mistyped. 0z GFS went East. Areas like where I'll be in the Western Catskills are fringed and areas along 95 make out pretty good with snow. Congrats.
Just updated website. Tonites EURO will tell alot. If the EURO shifts a bit farther off the coast..then could start buying this over 8" of snow stuff. UPDATE: http://jaysweather.net/
The main problem with these maps is taking into account temps and snow ratios....hmmm...this is showing the EURO to cross over NYC almost with the center. Not really buying this but you never know. The area you will be in is a safe bet for some very heavy snow though. That is one big snow map..its showing Buffalo getting into this storm...not sure about that.
euro shifted east..which is not a good thing for those not wanting snow..everyone except CBG? Winter Storm Watch www.jaysweather.net
This weather is insane ,,,,,,,keep the updates coming. We all have to make arrangements and plans depending on this,,,,be safe all
Will do CBG..be back in the area for Tuesday...day before storm Latest models have shifted East and this is something to watch for...but still...amounts are not going higher. Most areas do have potential for 6 plus though..except NYC EAST.
I am glad to hear that you are around Jay,,,,,,,,,,,,,,get back to us with amounts and start times and I am sure we are all conerned about travel and the holiday,,,I like many others will be checking this thread along with the site
Jay one of the things I love about this thread is the ability to ask you questions, is there a place for that on your new site? If not, I'm supposed to be traveling from LI to upstate NY, past Albany for Thanksgiving. We were planning on leaving Wednesday night, but now this storm has me nervous. Any recommendations?
its something Im really working on and planned to have done by the first of December FM...but will gladly love to answer any questions here...my home...TGG! Give me your planned times to leave L.I. sir...Im just checking models now.
New write up concerning latest GFS model run and then our first HUGE model run at 1pm with the EURO. This run will begin to tell the story and will be posted here...and on my site. UPDATED: www.jaysweather.net
Early is the best bet...all the models want to bring in the heavy stuff just before sunset FM....the problem is by Tuesday night the media will paint that picture big time and many will be doing the same. Allow yourself a ton of time but be on I87 early morning if you can...but be on it no later then noon if possible sir.
I'm flying into Binghamton today, I have a layover in Chicago, will I be delayed out of ORD? It's raining there.
