It drove me nuts that the Jets didn't play to Sanchez's strengths. When he rolls outs to the right...he's deadly.
You must be kidding. When he was here everything was adjusted for him. As for being deadly when he moves to his right: sure, that's when he throws his picks. He played well today coming off of a bad game. But that's about it.
Mark is playing good for and doing what he's supposed to do. He's not winning them games but he hasn't lost them any games either. that's all the Eagles need from him right now.
But why point out the team was shitty? According to many here sanchez couldnt play decent against a hs team. At the end of the day they are closer to the playoffs. They didn't win because of him but he sure did help. The team won because ST, D, and O did their part. Ima usin Tapatalkie.
The Eagles have been winning in spite of their QB play. Foles was awful before he got hurt. Sanchez has 6 INT in 4 games. The Eagles are just good at most other positions. Their success has very little, if anything, to do with their QB play.
Two bad INTs but 8 scoring drives, 300+ yards, 30 completions to 10 different receivers, 70% completion rate. Good enough for a comfortable win. But yeah, against a shitty team lol. _
Just a little perspective. The Eagles have the best weapons in all of the NFL when you include all their receivers and running backs. The Eagles run the most QB friendly system in the NFL. These two things have been stated by many in this thread. So lets look at this, the League average for completion percentage is 62.8% as things stood coming in to today. Sanchez, with todays game included, is at 62.3%...he's played two of the worst defenses in the NFL with 3 of 4 games against teams who are bad teams. So to get up to the league average it took the best weapons in the NFL AND the most QB friendly system in the NFL and playing 3 of the bad teams (2 of them being among the worst teams in the NFL)....and he's just been average. The league average for interception percentage was 2.5 coming in to today, Sanchez is at 4.8%, nearly double the League average. The league average for TD % is 4.7, Sanchez is at 4.8. His 5 fumbles ties him for 6th in the league....4 games compared to 10-11 games for all the other players. So what do we have so far? Give him the highest octane offense in the NFL and a very friendly 3 out of 4 first games and he's average in every category except turnovers...where of course he remains the bottom of the barrel...his biggest flaw and I stand by that as long as he's turning over the ball at the rate he is this season, which currently he's doing at a higher rate than at any time in his career, he will wind up costing games against good teams. So what does it prove to this point, take a really bad QB and give him the best of everything and the become.....average.....turnover happy but average....and 4 of the next 5 games are very tough games against teams that are very good, even if the Giants are erratic in how good or bad they are on offense. The only easy game left is the Dysfunctional Redskins.... That said, the next 5 games will really show what Sanchez is made of, one way or the other. So far he's 0-1 vs teams with winning records, 3 of the 5 games are against teams playing for the playoffs...the Giants can be dangerous if the offense plays decently, they still have a top line defense though. (edit) correction, I read the wrong column on Sanchez's interception percentage, it's 4.1% not 4.8%
First, the Eagles team personnel is not the Jets team personnel Secondly, Rex Ryan and staff is not the Eagles coach and staff. Third, a few games does not equal a career.
Just a little more perspective.....Smith with No O-line, a much worse system and many fewer weapons in 4 more games played has an Equal number of fumbles lost, 1 more fumble in total, and an almost equal interception percentage (4.3 vs 4.1) as Sanchez with the Eagles...and a higher completion percentage than Sanchez ever had with the Jets......kind of makes me wonder what Geno would do with the Eagles team and system.
Mark struggles at times with understanding that he is not good enough nor have the arm talent to make throws where he is off balanced and his feet are not set. That second INT was really the only bad throw he made. It's like he starts extending plays and fools himself into thinking he is Aaron Rodgers or something. That's why those plays where he is ducking under d-linemen while holding the ball with one hand then chucking the ball down the field for first downs are fools gold. The fetal position is your friend especially when you are up by 2 scores. The only qualities he has that makes him a more than serviceable NFL QB are his very good footwork, mechanics and anticipation. When any of those are compromised, he's not very good as everything else is marginal at best.
The Pats system is more QB friendly....The Iggles are close...but not quite. The Pats run fewer plays, and basically swap out personnel to disguise what they are doing, which leaves far less work for the QB, coupled with the the route combinations which generally leave secondary targets in the QB's line of vision when the primary is taken away.
eventually the D stopped them, they gave up FP but we got it back and scored. another good game for Mark, unbelievable how a guy that sucks this badly can play well in this league.
by a little perspective you mean just to make excuses why he is playing well? if any QB could do it why didn't they just give Barkley the team? why target Mark when he was released? The Eagles have excellent weapons no doubt but they don't have the best in the league, maybe had Jackson stayed they would have. excuse after excuse after excuse. If Mark was a horrible QB it wouldn't matter who was on his team or running the O, you guys spent years bashing him unfairly and it's humuorous to watch you make excuses as he succeeds elsewhere. His TOs are overrated. 2 fumbles last week and neither should have been credited to him, his INTs last week were all ion garbage time. Of the 4 INTs at Hou and vs. Ten only half were his fault but I would take the TOs in the 3 wins as they are averaging over 30 PPG with him. keep those excuses flowing.
They stopped the prolific Tom Brady-led New England offense.....eventually. Love the modifier-nice. So conversely what you're saying is that Mark was responsible for giving the Jets good field position (that the defense "eventually" gave up) in the first place? "unbelieveable how a guy that sucks this badly..." <---save the derisive, heavy-handed sarcasm for the Sanchez haters you've been battling for weeks on end now as my post contained a non-Sanchez-related question.
Our D blew that game, NE was given the ball inside the 5 and got across midfield. The O luckily was able to get into FG range, the O gave the D a late lead and the D blew it as they tended to do back in those days. I have heard for years and years how he is the worst QB in the league. It's amazing how things work out.
I'd disagree really, the Patriots system is dependent on a QB who makes quick and accurate reads of the defense whereas the Eagles system is more based on timing patterns and quick snaps to keep the defense on it's toes....ever notice that most of Sanchez's snaps come before the clock hits around 15 seconds? hint, the headset is still on for the coach to talk during that time to help with the reads...not saying that's all on the coach, but it does make you wonder how much comes from Kelly. Just saying it's something to consider and something the broadcasters have mentioned a number of times.
