falcons stop the clock for the browns by calling timeout then on 3rd and 2 they chuck it deep rather than than try to get closer (get a first down, which would be huge) wow but bryant makes it
Atlanta could've sealed that game 3rd and 2, run a play to get the first down then you can manage the clock so you kick a FG with not much time left instead, they stop it twice for cleveland timeout and then a deep incompletion made ZERO sense to throw it deep there
Mike Smith is one of the worst coaches in the NFL. He's a defensive minded coach and ATL continuously has one of the worst defenses every year.......
people used to bash Andy Reid for clock management for this was worse than anything I ever saw Reid do it's like Smith was setting it up exactly right so Cleveland would have a good chance to come back
Mike P. and Mike Smith both trying to lose this game. Incredible stuff. This offseason, all head coaches should be required to play Madden all summer long to understand clock management. Get it drilled into their head
That was a terrible timeout by Pettine and if I was a ATL fan I wouldn't be very happy with Mike Smith right now.
