Usually have to give at least a weeks notice to take any holiday, I told them it was a matter of an emergency, they said they would do what they could and look into getting my shift covered.
They got back to me at around lunch and said that I could have the day off.......yay!!! THEN got asked what the emergency was.... without thinking blurted out that our game had been moved due to the snowfall in Buffalo and it meant that I would be watching the game early Tuesday morning, as I was saying this thought to myself...idiot! You should have made something more 'sympathetic', to guarantee the day off, I thought that was it , I'd blown it. Nope my manager nodded and said he understood....and wished the Jets all the best on Monday. He has no idea or interest in football.........what a guy!!!

Next year you should call and threaten to cancel because the Jets suck, I guarantee you'll get at least one of those payments knocked off. The NFL is desperate to keep customers.

 

The call center is in the UK and would most likely be answered by a clueless rep who would simply take the cancellation. We're not in the US's league on that yet

 

Never underestimate the cancellations department, they aren't there to let you cancel, they are there to keep you from leaving. The customer service people are the clueless ones, they are who you don't want to talk to.

And you give the US a little too much credit, we have some of the most clueless people in the world.

Asking for the cancellations dept is the golden rule.
