Just heard on Steve Torres dog bites that it is indeed not available and they have hockey scheduled there until 3pm Monday. The article seems to be slightly inaccurate...
This is actually some scary stuff. Imagine the amount of pressure on these peoples roofs! Ima usin Tapatalkie.
However the players need work visas to play in Toronto and getting those done and processed in 2 days doesn't seem possible. Tax laws would not allow them to be paid because they wouldn't have worked in the States
The league had no problem doing it to the Saints when they gave the VaGiants a free home game following Katrina. Yup the NFL moved a Saints home game to the Meadowlands when they played the Giants. As if Houston, Orlando, Tampa, Birmingham, San Antonio, Atlanta, Charlotte, Little Rock, Oxford, Memphis, Starkville, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, Auburn, Dallas, Hattiesburg, Miami, Gainesville, nd every other dam stadium in the South were booked up.
I was thinking the same thing - lol. And they also said free tickets, but I can only imagine what they were going to give them. Christ, they all would have deserved sideline passes if they could ever find the sideline !
I knew they wouldn't move the game here. 2 times Giant games had to be moved since 2005, one they move to the meadowlands and it was a Saints "home" game b/c of Katrina then when the Metrodome roof collapsed they moved that game to Detroit also but Detroit is a div rival of Minnesota so again the Giants got a huge advantage. at least now no one cares about either team so Buf loses the homefield but isn't at a disadvantage like NO/Min vs. NYG.
The Jets have never lost in Ford Field before(in the reg season). our 2 games there: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200211170det.htm http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201011070det.htm
Actually, they aren't too fond of Jim Schwartz in Detroit, especially after he was carried off the field when Buffalo beat Detroit earlier this year. I'm sure that there will be that element rooting against the Bills not only because of Schwartz, but because the Bills beat them at the last second in week 5. Buffalo definitely loses their homefield advantage completely, and that ain't nothing. But the real disadvantage is that the Bills haven't been able to practice. The Jets have had an extra week to prepare, and the Bills haven't been able to practice. Most of the players are snowed-in and have been held captive in their own homes, so to speak...dealing with all that snow, hoping their roofs don't collapse and whatnot. There has been like 7 feet of snow in areas, and still coming down. 85% of the players live in the South Towns, which was hardest hit. They have to rescue players with snowmobiles just to get them on the plane to Detroit. If that's not a distraction, then I don't know what is. Maybe some will have to fly commercial and get there when they get there.
that was in he Silverdome. do you think they like Marty Mornhinweg? sometimes situations like this bring teams closer together, it's a div opponent so they are very familiar with us. the venue change will not be an excuse if they lose.
I just read something online that when the Giants played the Vikings at Ford Field the tickets were free! Wanna go?
Take the homer blinders off. The Jets have an obvious advantage here in this game, a large one at that. I understand not wanting to hear Bills fans cry if/when they lose but at very least Buffalo's routine has been disrupted and that's enough to throw a team off in itself. Unfortunately for them- the scenario at play is even more serious than just a disrupted routine. Couple that with the Jets coming off a bye week having even more time to prepare for a team that has experienced a major in-season disruption oh- and a game played at a neutral venue. Big advantage Jets. There is no excuses for this Jets team. If they lose this one man that would be pretty pathetic, even in a 2-8 season. As far as fan allegiances/hatred of Schwartz or MM - the crowd will be sparse and indifferent most likely and won't make a difference either way in that regard. It will be a neutral, quiet crowd.
who said we didn't have an advantage w/ everything that has gone on? but we don't have a homefield advantage like NYG had. we are division opps, Buf knows us and dire circumstances can bring people together. they may play great b/c of it? we don't know. the Jets haven't played in over 2 weeks, what about rust?
If I was a Bills fan, I'd be really pissed. I mean I'd already be pissed being a Bills fan, but I'd be extra pissed that they took away a home game and didn't move it to Syracuse. The NFL continues to do what's easy for the NFL and damn the fans.
